The Technology Transfer Centre: a high-tech experimental facility With the Technology Transfer Centre (CTT), IFMA has an experimental facility of 3200m ² equipped with high-tech innovative experimental tools, shared by research and technology transfer activities. The CTT is an open space for exchanges, where students, teachers, technicians and engineers work on concrete projects with the Institute's partners and interact on technical problems. Through Méc@Prod, IFMA offers companies the skills of its engineers, teaching staff and researchers, whatever the organisational level, methods or tools. Our services are founded on technical and scientific expertise, experimental potential and the proximity of the School, and respond to demanding industrial requirements. Apprenticeship tax: a strategic financial lever Representing 11% of IFMA's budget, the apprenticeship tax reflects the good relations between the school and industry. By channelling your tax towards IFMA, you are supporting our school's projects and participating in the preparation of future engineers through the acquisition of cuttingedge industrial equipment for training, research and technology transfer. Continuing education: a key tool to enhance your skills Developing a company's potential is becoming more and more critical, due to rapid industrial changes and recruitment difficulties. IFMA proposes a custom-made continuing education service dedicated to the needs of industry. The School accompanies businesses at all levels of training and in all its skills domains, from technical English to manufacturing, via organisation methods, mechanics and design strategies. Provided by the Institute's teachers and researchers, these training courses may take place on your premises, depending on the programme. Continuing education can often be the starting point for a long-term partnership to accompany the company's technological mutation. IFMA Industrial Relations department: a privileged contact and access to collaborative projects In tune with businesses and in collaboration with regional competitiveness clusters (ViaMéca, InnoViandes and Céréales Vallée), the Industrial Relations department is at your disposal to study your project, from a technical as well as an economic or collaborative point of view, and to accompany you on the road to success. R E S E A R C H Research at IFMA IFMA is a scientific centre which is recognised in the fields of mechanical engineering and production systems. The underlying research strategy at our institute is to propose innovative and reliable solutions for the design of materials, structures and machines, to provide the requisite performance of these systems throughout their lifecycle and to ensure the quality and efficiency of production systems in a demanding, changing and diversified environment. IFMA's objective is to become, thanks to our impact and our reputation, a centre of excellence in the scientific domains furthered by our research teams. ORGANISATION OF OUR RESEARCH ACTIVITY Research activities in the three laboratories of the TIMS research federation (FR 2856 CNRS/UBP/UA/IFMA) • LaMI, Mechanical and Engineering Laboratory - EA 3867: Materials and Structures, Machines, Mechanisms and Systems, Probabilistic Structural Mechanics. • LIMOS, Computing, Modelling and Systems Optimisation Laboratory- UMR CNRS 6158: Modelling, Organisation and Management of Production Systems. • LASMEA, Sciences and Materials for Electronics and Robotics Laboratory - UMR CNRS 6602: Robotics and Complex Autonomous Systems A major player in large regional projects • Active participation, via the TIMS research federation, in the Innov@pole State-Region project. • Strong participation in the Auvergne region's competitiveness clusters (ViaMéca, Céréales Vallée, InnoViandes). • Hosting of the ViaMéca cluster's offices on IFMA premises. It is characterised by a strong local integration and an efficient implication in networks and projects, on both a national and international level. Active participation in training for and through research • IFMA participates in the Auvergne College of Doctoral Schools, as a founding member of "Clermont Université". • Support institution for the Engineering Sciences Doctoral School of Clermont- Ferrand. • Co-accreditation with Blaise Pascal University for the Mechanical and Civil Engineering Master's degree. • IFMA student engineers are encouraged to follow a double degree programme with a research Master. • Hosting of PhD and post-doctoral students.
