Erin Gilmour School 65th Anniversary Gala & Fun Run Walk
With corporate support from Scotiabank, Mckinney Bancroft & Hughes as well
as help from many individuals, The Salvation Army Erin H. Gilmour School for
Blind and Visually Impaired Children celebrated its 65th Anniversary with a
Gala Dinner on September 19th at The British Colonial Hilton. A Fun Run Walk
followed on September 27th.
The special guest speaker at the Gala Dinner was Mr. Isaac Lidsky. Lidsky,
the child TV star from the 90’s teen sitcom, Saved By The Bell: The New
Class, was diagnosed at the age of thirteen with retinitis pigmentosa, a rare
blinding disease. A Harvard graduate with degrees in law, computer science
and applied mathematics Lidsky founded an internet marketing startup and
had the opportunity to work as an attorney for the U.S. Justice Department.
He served as the first blind law clerk for Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg and
retired Justice Sandra Day O’ Conner.
On September 27th, with sponsorship from Sun Tee Bahamas and other
corporate entities, the Erin Gilmour School held its first Fun Run Walk in
celebration of the 65th Anniversary. Thank you Sun Tee for your wonderful
