<strong>The</strong> Salvation Army Erin H. Gilmour School for Blind & Visually Impaired Children launched its 65th Anniversary celebrations<br />

with a church service at <strong>The</strong> Nassau Citadel Corps. Organized by the school’s principal, Ms. Maria Deleveaux, the entire<br />

programme was performed by the students of the school. <strong>The</strong> service was moderated by the school’s senior teacher, Mr.<br />

William ‘Bill’ Lightbourne, who himself is blind. Yes - <strong>The</strong> blind CAN lead the blind!<br />

Groundbreaking Ceremony for <strong>The</strong> Freeport Corps Expansion Project<br />

<strong>The</strong> Salvation Army Freeport Corps broke ground in May to commence<br />

work on its $450,000 building expansion project. More than $200,000 of<br />

that amount was raised in Grand Bahama, and <strong>The</strong> Salvation Army USA<br />

Eastern Territory donated the remaining portion. Lt-Colonels Dewhurst and<br />

Vevene Jonas, Territorial Headquarters officers from Jamaica were on hand<br />

to participate in the ground-breaking.<br />
