They know the place more than we locals do. 8The Puerto Princesa Underground River (PPUR) did not make it to the New Wonders of Nature list for nothing. Explore the 3-kilometer boat ride inside the cave complete with an amusing tour courtesy of the friendly tour guide and be mesmerized by the eye catching stalagmites and stalactes. Aerwards, have a picnic at the grounds. Just watch out for the monitor lizards (bayawak) and monkeys around the area. The Mt. Pinatubo Lake 9Sll in Palawan, El Nido is another place you shouldn’t miss. It’s a favorite tourist desnaon and in fact in 2007, it earned the Naonal Geographic Traveler magazine’s best travel desnaon The entrance to the Puerto Princesa Underground River in the world. Last year, El Nido was declared the Philippines’ Best Beach and Island desnaon by the CNNGo, CNN’s travel news website. A secluded island in Caramoan 10In Bicol region, there’s an island that’s been a favorite loca- on scene of the Survivor series. A trip to Corregidor 11 geng too crowded for our taste but it’s sll worth vising. Frolic in the white sand beaches and be a goddess for awhile. Strut along the shore in your tankini with your best buddy. Try helmet diving, which I must say is not recommended for the chicken-hearted. Drive an All- Terrain Vehicle (ATV) and bid your inhibions goodbye. Boracay is probably One of the ruins in Corregidor Island The Sunken Cemetery in Camiguin 13Lastly, come to Camiguin. This beauful island is not only famous for its Sunken Cemetery. There are other aracons worthy of our discerning aenon like the Spanish colonial churches. There are also waterfalls and springs that will leave anyone in wonder. Oh and don’t forget to try their famous lanzones. So far, I’ve crossed four off my bucket list. I know I have nine more desnaons to explore but I am not rering in the near future. I’m only on my 13th year with the <strong>NFA</strong>. I have more me to plan, more months to save.
