For environmental protection reasons, Neschen is increasingly
using polypropylene (PP) as a raw material in banner manufac-
ture. This simply structured synthetic is a compound of the two
elements, carbon (C) and hydrogen (H). On combustion of the
raw material or the PP film, only water (H2O) and carbon diox-
ide (CO2) are released. There are no other environmental or
health-damaging by-products. Modern cleaning and filter plants
also reduce the emission of the climate killer CO2 to a mini-
mum.
Water-based adhesive
A water-based adhesive is heralding the "New Generation" of
Neschen's tried and tested premium surface protection films.
The internationally established "filmolux" laminates now offer an
even stronger adhesive power and an improved water-
resistance. Without additional edge-sealing, exhibits protected
with filmolux can be displayed outdoors for up to two years; if
used outdoors with edge-sealing, they are protected for up to
five years. When used only indoors, the film's life span in-
creases to up to eight years.
Avoiding misprints
The outstanding quality of the substrates and matching print
profiles for every common ink system cause less misprints and
even proof copies are usually no longer necessary. Simplified
colour management across various media helps to reduce
waste significantly. This is very important, from both an ecologi-
cal and economic point of view.
"Sustainability has many facets not least of which are "green"
printing media and efficient processes," said Friedrich Drinkuth,
Senior Product Manager at Neschen in Bückeburg. "This helps
