Naomi Forman (Music Theatre)
Soprano NAOMI FORMAN is noted for her “mesmerising” stage
presence. “You couldn't take your eyes off her - she has that
kind of star power.” (Winnipeg Free Press). A cross-over artist
who has embraced everything from Mozart to Musical Theatre,
memorable moments for this versatile singing actor include
sharing the stage with Broadway Legend Len Cariou and the
Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra (Send in the Clowns: An Evening
of Stephen Sondheim) Franca in Light in the Piazza (Dry Cold
Productions) and Mad Margaret in Ruddigore (The Gilbert
and Sullivan Society of Winnipeg). Forman is the creator of
StarBach’s: The Coffee Cantata, a fresh take on Bach's classic for the triple-soy-venti set
that premiered at the Winnipeg Fringe Festival. The one-hour show has since appeared
with Best of Fest, the Ottawa Chamber Music Festival, the Saskatoon Proms and the
Brandon Chamber Players. Naomi Forman Productions (NFP) continues to explore and
develop new shows by re-thinking old operas. A big fan of New Music, Forman recently
commissioned a set of songs for soprano, piano and electronics from Canadian composer
T. Patrick Carrabré whose song cycle, Crazy, reveals the thin line between creativity
and madness. A sneak peek of Crazy was first heard at the Western Canadian Music
Awards in Calgary with the official world premiere held during the Brandon Chamber
Players 2013-14 season. A member of the voice faculty at Brandon University since
