Our desire to create new and cutting-edge products and services is borne by our drive to be at the forefront of technology and to be constantly in touch with what is happening on the ground. To achieve this, we are continually investing in Research and Development (R&D). We believe, R&D is the catalyst for future sustainable growth and provides the defining difference in an ever-evolving marketplace. Our R&D efforts go beyond machines and equipment to include our global human capital. People are our most valuable asset and we continuously seek to strengthen our human and talent capital and their knowledge bank to create business excellence and competitive advantage for the Venture Group. We are constantly building on our strength in R&D. The depth and breadth of our technological capabilities have also been boosted by our acquisition of complementary and synergistic businesses. The acquisition of GES International Limited in 2006 was a step in this direction, following our acquisition of a stake in Scinetic Engineering Pte Ltd a year earlier. These acquisitions added to the Group’s overall competency and will support the growing demand from customers for turnkey design and manufacturing services in areas such as POS products and data capture terminals/kiosks in the Retail Store Solution business. Our fully integrated design and manufacturing solutions serve to shorten a product’s development life cycle thereby helping our customers reduce development costs and retain their edge in their respective markets through timely product launches and upgrades. The combined skill sets and know-how of Venture coupled with our breadth of offerings have strengthened the Group’s dominance in the original design and manufacture arena.
