Evening & Weekend <strong>MBA</strong> students and graduates use<br />

their new skills and connections in a variety <strong>of</strong> ways:<br />

to advance to senior positions within their current<br />

organizations, to transition to new functions (from<br />

engineering to marketing, for example), to move to new<br />

industries, and to launch their own enterprises. In fact, as<br />

soon as you begin study in the Evening & Weekend <strong>MBA</strong> Program, you lay<br />

the groundwork for career advancement.<br />

The Haas School’s Chetkovich Career Center provides you with a wide<br />

variety <strong>of</strong> customized tools and services to help you prepare for the next<br />

stage in your career. To meet the needs <strong>of</strong> your demanding schedule, many<br />

activities and events are held at convenient times, such as on Friday nights<br />

or on weekends. In addition, the Center’s staff holds evening and weekend<br />

consulting hours and is available year-round to support your needs.<br />

Providing a Structured Approach to Career Planning<br />

One <strong>of</strong> the many roles <strong>of</strong> the Center is to assist you in thinking strategically<br />

about your career objectives and to <strong>of</strong>fer you a structured approach to<br />

tackling today’s job market. Personalized services <strong>of</strong>fered by the Career<br />

Center include assistance with individual planning, clarifying career goals<br />

and objectives, resume writing, and interview preparation. A series <strong>of</strong><br />

individual specialty courses, seminars, and workshops covering diverse<br />

topics such as personal branding, business etiquette, and networking help<br />

prepare you for a variety <strong>of</strong> pr<strong>of</strong>essional situations.<br />

In addition to providing counseling services and workshops at all stages<br />

<strong>of</strong> the career planning process, the Center also organizes job fairs and<br />

on- and <strong>of</strong>f-campus recruiting activities. On-campus interviews and<br />

corporate presentations are also popular forums for students to meet<br />

prospective employers.<br />

You are also given the opportunity to interact with hiring managers and<br />

recruiters in more informal ways, including industry firm nights, corporate<br />

visits, alumni mixers, and career panels. For example, recent career<br />

panels focused on general management rotational programs and hosted<br />

representatives from leading companies including Chevron, PG&E, and Intel.<br />

Another panel, formed to address job opportunities in the energy field, drew<br />

employers such as Genentech, Nextrials, and Aurora Bi<strong>of</strong>uels.<br />
