New information available on LGOnline provides important resources for councils dealing with flying<br />

fox management.<br />

The Local Government Association of Queensland has launched a dedicated member-only area of its<br />

website for latest information and support on the issue of flying fox management.<br />

A communication guide designed to assist elected members in responding to community questions<br />

and concerns related to flying fox colonies is accompanied by a best practice management guide<br />

produced in partnership with environmental consulting firm Ecosure.<br />

The two part communication guide and resources kit will be emailed direct to councils on LGAQ’s<br />

flying fox communication mailing list.<br />

A pre-qualified list of Environmental Consultancy firms with relevant qualifications to work with<br />

councils on the issue of flying fox management has also been established by LGAQ in partnership<br />

with Local Buy.<br />
