2.1.6 Other State Resources (Mechanisms <strong>and</strong> Facilitators of Financing)<br />
Public <strong>and</strong> private financing resources are only useful if they have advocates, champions, <strong>and</strong> mechanisms to<br />
reach the individuals <strong>and</strong> firms that need them. Organizations such as the Center for Women & Enterprise, the<br />
Rhode Isl<strong>and</strong> Small Business <strong>Development</strong> Center, <strong>and</strong> Rhode Isl<strong>and</strong> SCORE place an emphasis on supporting<br />
entrepreneurship; others such as the state’s Chambers of Commerce provide support for all types of businesses<br />
in their locality, while also supporting an improved economy throughout the state; <strong>and</strong> still other organizations<br />
focus on specific business needs like talent or real estate, such as the Governor’s Workforce Board or the<br />
<strong>Economic</strong> <strong>Development</strong> Foundation of Rhode Isl<strong>and</strong>, respectively.<br />
