Chart 3 demonstrates a continual demand for high dependency care during the calendar year in
Scotland. The highest level of demand for HDC appears in November 2006. Some children may
have had episodes in more than one month and will therefore be counted each month.
The need for HDC across the 3 regions in Scotland has been displayed in Chart 4. Analysis of
activity and demand has including returns from NHS Tayside in the North of Scotland region (NoS)
and NHS Forth Valley in the West of Scotland region (WoS).
