On Sunday morning several committee members from
each club met together to plan future National Rallies
and to discuss issues relevant to our clubs. The weather
was overcast, and it started raining soon after we left
the hotel and drove past many of the Embassies which
adorn Canberra. Despite the weather, it was a pleasant
drive through Queanbeyan and on to the quaint village
of Bungendore. The second-hand bookshop and Wood
Works Gallery were popular attractions before we drove
through the Lake George Ranges to the Poacher's Pantry
for a superb lunch. Unfortunately I struck the exhaust of
my S1 on the cattle grid at the entrance and managed to
destroy the exhaust manifold. My trip home was initially
very noisy until the car failed to proceed and had to be
towed back to Sydney.
Some stayed on for dinner on Sunday evening to conclude
a superb National Rally, and my congratulations and thanks
go to the organisers.
