The final section was a return to the House
Choir with each choir having a free choice.
Trevor entertained with Barbie Girl; all the
House were involved and great team work was
much in evidence as was the inevitable crossdressing.
Casson made good use of smoke
and the choir were well integrated with some
excellent accompaniment. Goodman
continued the Monty Python theme with
Always look on the bright side of life. They
sang, whistled well, and they knew the words!
All the choir were involved and seemed to
enjoy themselves. Finally Kenyon brought the
afternoon to an end and were the strongest
choir in this section with their contribution – Reach for the stars – which was voted the winning entry by
the audience. The whole afternoon
was a splendid occasion on which
to end the term.
The Summer term disrupted, this
year, by the Icelandic ash cloud is
increasingly given over to
examinations and this has curtailed
opportunities beyond the classroom.
The annual sports day saw some
entertaining and close-fought
competitions. In the Years 6-8
section the initial events were very
closely fought with only 4 points
separating the four houses. In the closing stages of this section Goodman and Casson pulled ahead with
Goodman Juniors
contributing 75 points to
the overall total and
Casson Juniors 72. In the
middle section Trevor
were clear leaders from
Goodman and in the
Seniors Kenyon set the
standard by winning by
over 10 points from
Goodman. It was
Goodman’s consistency
across all sections that
saw them come out on
top winning the
competition by clear 16
points from Casson.
