Table of Contents The acknowledgement of key aviation stakeholders—both in private entities and government agencies—that the regional airline industry has secured a “seat at the table” when aviation policy is made is the cover theme of the RAA 2011 Annual Report. You’ll read in greater detail on page one how the association has safely and professionally made this “arrival” with regionals now flying more than half of all US flights, carrying more than a quarter of all passengers, and with 75% of US communities relying exclusively on regionals for their airline service. Our OAG statistics in this year’s Annual Report reveal the more than 2,600 aircraft flown by regional airlines—both regional jets and turboprops—now have an average seating capacity of 56 seats.
