ATTENTION EAGLE ADVANCEMENT PERSONNEL
It has come to my attention that there is a problem with receiving ALL the information needed into
the office in order to process an Eagle Rank Advancement. The following information needs to be
passed on to whoever is involved with the Scouts Eagle Advancement. This information is not new
as the flyer on this went out in January of 2006 but for some reason it has not been carried through
to new leaders working with the Eagle Rank. Please review this information and see that the proper
leaders are made aware of these requirements.
1) As part of the completion of the Eagle Project Workbook write-up, there needs to be a strong
written overview of the project. This needs to be very detailed on how the project went, problems
that occurred and how they were worked out, AND at least a portion needs to give an insight as to
how the Scout showed his leadership skills. Pictures are welcome. As an outline for doing the
project write-up the following are possible questions to answer.
• What was the project? • How did it go? • What did you learn?
• How did you show leadership? • What would you do different?
While no specific length is required, a sentence or two does not fulfill this requirement!
2) The following items need to be presented in a NEAT folder or binder of some kind when
turned in prior to the Eagle Board of Review.
• Eagle Scout Leadership Service Project Workbook which includes the above noted write-up.
• Eagle Scout Rank Application which requires a name for the project.
• Requirement 6 items of the Rank Application which are: The statement of ambitions and life
purpose AND the listing of positions held in a religious institution, school, camp, community
or other organizations during which leadership skills were shown. Include
honors and awards received during this service.
Please be assured that this is only explaining what is already required for the
Eagle Rank. We need to keep these procedures in place so as to make sure we
keep the Eagle Rank approval top notch in this council.
