THE KEYNOTE SPEAKERS
Michael Hebron
Decades ago Michael Hebron played a key role in orchestrating
the first PGA Teaching and Coaching Summit, bringing together
instructors from across the country to share ideas on teaching methods
and philosophies. He became known as “the teacher’s teacher” and
through his dedication earned the distinction of being inducted as the
24th PGA of America Master Professional.
Whether teaching a junior clinic or working with a Tour Player,
Michael demonstrates a love and passion for the game of golf while always helping to identify
and promote the importance of the PGA Professional.
Michael’s resume is filled with accolades and accomplishments. In addition to winning the
PGA of America Horton Smith Award and the 1991 PGA Teacher of the Year Award, Michael
has received over twenty five other distinguished awards including the Sam Snead Award for
his contributions to the game, the PGA and his Metropolitan section. His legacy of service as
a teacher, educator, author, promoter, golf professional and course operator puts him among
the PGA of America’s elite.
Michael’s book, See and Feel the Inside Move the Outside, was the first golf instruction book
accepted as a PGA Master’s thesis. Since then, he has written hundreds of articles for leading
golf magazines, authored a number of books and DVDs and featured on both free-to-air and
cable television shows.
In recent times, Michael has taken many hours of classes at Harvard’s Graduate School of
Education and has subsequently been researching the brain’s connection to learning. His
Neuro Learning for Golf principles advocate that in order to enhance performance potential,
you must first improve an individual’s learning potential. The environment that this approach
creates is a ‘learning-developing’ environment, as opposed to the traditional ‘teaching & fixing
to get-it-right’ approach.
