Porsche World Roadshow Singapore The Exhilarating World of Porsche Returns to Singapore Over the years more than 12,000 guests in over 25 countries across the globe have participated in the Porsche World Roadshow events, and wherever in the world it is held fans are treated to a first- hand experience of the advanced technological features and world-class performance of Porsche’s legendary range of sports cars and SUVs. The PWRS programme also provides an exhilarating one-day Porsche driving experience where participants, under the guidance of professional Porsche factory instructors from Germany, can test the scale of various Porsche models through challenging driving activities and also pick up the finer points of car handling and useful advice on how to become better drivers on the road. Porsche Centre Singapore organized the very first and hugely successful PWRS in Singapore in 2007 Participants of the 2009 PWRS with the instructors from Germany and this year they brought the event back on an even bigger scale much to the delight of local Porsche enthusiasts. From 17th to 22nd February 2009 Changi Exhibition Centre was transformed into part stunning showroom and part driving school as close to 200 guests got the chance to experience the Porsche legend up-close in a relaxed atmosphere and take part in the driving activities. Three German instructors were specially flown in from Porsche AG to put participants through their paces in exercises such as handling, slalom, the moose test and braking. These activities, which were specially selected for the Singapore leg of the event by PWRS Manager Christian Lehwald, allowed participants to experience the superb handling and braking abilities of the complete range, including the Briefing at the Moose Test Section new 911 models with double-clutch gearbox Porsche- Doppelkupplung (PDK) and the Cayenne GTS. Participants were also treated to a fast lap experience, in the passenger seat, as the Porsche instructors demonstrated the full capabilities of various Porsche models. Porsche owner, Mr Michael Sng, said he felt that the driving scenarios he experienced at the roadshow will make him a better driver, and also helped him appreciate the driving technology that his Porsche Cayenne is equipped with. The activities that we undertook also convinced us of the remarkable driving abilities of the Porsches, and how we can utilise technologies such as the Porsche Stability Management (PSM) to make ourselves better drivers and lower the risk of accidents. I had a ball of a time, and am definitely looking forward to the next Porsche World Roadshow in Singapore.”
Explaining the format of the roadshow, PWRS Manager Christian Lehwald explains, “Porsche’s history of producing world-class sports cars is a well known fact. The Porsche World Roadshow enables us to convince participants of this reputation by allowing them to test out the sporting prowess of a wide variety of our Porsche cars not just in simple everyday driving conditions, but also in challenging driving scenarios that will improve and enhance the participant’s driving abilities.” Mr Karsono Kwee, Executive Chairman of Stuttgart Auto, the official Porsche Importer added that the purpose of having the PWRS extended deeper than just a showcase of the power and the world-class drivability of Porsche cars.
