Youth Activities SPANISH CAMP Looking for something fun and educational? In this exciting camp, children will be introduced to the Spanish language and Latin culture through songs, games, and fun projects. Each day we will explore a different theme in Spanish. All supplies included. Students will use detective skills and classroom forensics. Fingerprints, chemical analysis, and our five senses will aid in uncovering the clues. Being a detective is fun with Scooby. Pirates Life for Me Program #: 172.32 Date: June 27 Ahoy Captain Jack Sparrow! Participants will make pirate hats and eye patches and then look for treasure with maps. There will be pirate activities and a pirate style snack-will you walk the plank? You might see some sharks; students will learn about those awesome creatures, too. Volcanoes & Earthquakes Program #: 172.33 Date: July 18 Two great forces-how do they happen? Come to this quake and shake class to find out. Students will erupt a classroom volcano and make a smaller model to take home. Then, learn about earthquakes and build a snack that demonstrates the motion of a quake. Circus Science Program #: 172.34 Date: August 1 Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the Big Top! As participants become circus performers they will use Newton 's Laws of Physics to juggle, walk a tightrope, and test our balance. Then, students will design clown faces, perform magic tricks, and learn what it is like to work in the circus. CARS OF THE SPEEDWAY This summer, feel the rush and excitement. Students will experience the thrills of the motor speedway illustrating a variety of racing scenes over the course of three days. Realistic stock cars and formula racers will be drawn the first day. The second day, will include a variety of cartoon cars. The last day, students will be introduced to pastel chalks as they create a scene of a race car in motion. HORSEBACK RIDING Master the skill of horseback riding. Your child has the opportunity to have their own horse for a week. Campers will learn about horses from riding, grooming, saddling and bridling, bathing, exercising, and more. Non-stop fun in a safe and educational environment. All classes are taught by experienced instructors. Riders are required to wear long pants and closed-toed shoes. Helmets are provided.
