INSTITUTIONAL POLICIES AND EXECUTIVE ORDERS A. Program Control of Drugs and Alcohol The San Juan Bautista School of Medicine conscientious of the serious problems of social control that reflects the high incidence of adult delinquency, the traffic and drug use, the alcoholism and other manifestations of social deviation in Puerto Rico, fulfills the social responsibility when establishing the Control Program of Alcohol and Drug. This program is created in order to develop to a plan of action and socially viable strategies, that allow to create conscience in the university community, in relation to the magnitude of the problem of drugs like waiting room to the criminality. The same one is assigned to the Deanship of Students; it develops activities of direction and social and individual intervention. The collaboration of those departments is received that can help in the profit of these objectives. 1. Objectives: To orient to the young people about the Program and its intentions. To foment the interest to develop to strategies of prevention and treatment related to the problem of drugs. 2. Strategies: We have external resources available to provide counseling and services to the students, which are canalized through the Office of Counselor. 3. Resources: Personnel of the Department of Services Against the Addiction Personnel of the respective departments of the Medical School Orientation Resources of the community B. Its academic advantage is considered, basic studies required to enter the program, the results obtained in the "Medical College Admission Test" (MCAT) and motivation to study the race, its characteristics of leadership, ability to be related to other people, to solve problems and interest in the participation in communal and scientific activities. 37
