YEARBOOK COMMITTEE MEETING: No Yearbook meeting today but there will be one next Wednesday for the WHOLE
Committee.
HOT CHOCOLATE: $2 from school café this week, Thursday and Friday, cash sale only, before school and morning tea.
YEAR 9 DEBATING AND COACHES: The draw for Monday 17 June is on the door of H7. If there are any issues, please see
Mrs Button by Friday.
MUNA: All MUNA students who have not returned your permission slips need to do so by the end of Thursday this week. Any
entrance fees not paid also need to be paid by Thursday. Please hand slips and fees to Mrs Clack asap.
SCHOOLGEN: Meeting on Friday at interval in S9, please all attend.
TRASH TO FASHION: All entrants – the judging sheets are on the board in A Block. Also collect your permission slip from the
board outside A17.
WHOLE SCHOOL: Trash to Fashion event is TODAY in the Hall at lunch – all welcome. Coin donation would be appreciated.

YEAR 11 MATHS: 1.10 Assessment: Mr Rutter will be in C4 at lunchtime today if you need help sorting out a printing problem
with your card.
YEAR 11, YEAR 12, YEAR 13 MATHEMATICS: “Build Greater Confidence and Skill with Parallel Paper Booklets 2013
The most up-to-date NZQA Mathematics preparation material that is possible to get!” The booklets consist of sets of Parallel
Assessment Papers based on the actual end-of-year NZQA Mathematics Assessments (or a NZQA sample). All have marking
schedules included. $4 for each year, $12 for past three years, to your Math teacher. Last date Thur 20 June. Booklets
arrive in Term 3.
CHINESE FUNDRAISING: Snacks and drinks – look out for girls around school selling yummy Chinese snacks this week.
They are around $2. This is to fundraise for Chinese Night.
ALL INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS: Please attend International Assembly in the Hall on Wednesday Form time. Register with
you Form teacher first but attendance is compulsory.
ALL INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS: Don’t forget we are celebrating the Dragon Boat Festival after school today in the Golden
Swan Café. If you cannot stay please come and be given a dumpling to celebrate this Festival and still make your bus on time.
KNITTING GROUP: D6 lunchtime today, everyone welcome.
YEAR 10: Thurs 13 June Period 5 you will have an Attitude presentation in the Hall. At the beginning of Period 5 please
quickly go to your class to get your name checked off by your teacher, and then quickly move to the Hall for the Period.
CHESS SOCIAL GROUP: Please come to C5 Wed lunchtime for fun. Bring your friends.
PHILOSOPHY CLUB: Discussion topic for this week – Do the ends justify the means? Please note we are back in A28 this

YEAR 11 SCIENCE UNIT 1.10: Excretion REMINDER – test catch-up at lunchtime in S9 today if you missed Tues due to PE
or Choir.
YEAR 13 FOOD TECHNOLOGY STUDENTS: are looking for students who are lactose intolerant or gluten intolerant. Please
come to the café (B4) at morning tea on Wednesday, to complete a short survey.
YEAR 12: On Thurs morning 13 th June at form time and Tues next week, there will be a special assembly in the hall for Y10
and Y11 about Westlake’s next World Challenge in December 2014. The destination is the exotic and fascinating country of
Morocco! If you’re interested in finding out more, please see your form teacher promptly on Thursday (Akoranga, Hauraki,
Onewa houses) or Tuesday (Pupuke, Wairau houses) for roll check then go to the back of the hall to hear all about it!
YEAR 10: On Thursday morning at form time you will be attending a special assembly in the hall, for a presentation about

SCHOLARSHIP GEOGRAPHY STUDENTS: Auckland University is holding a workshop for students on Wed 12 th June
4.00pm - 6.00pm at Auckland Uni. Transport from school has been arranged. If you would like to go see either Mrs Larnder or
Mr Hooks.

CAREERS
YEARS 12 & 13: The Engineering Faculty at Auckland University is running an information evening on Tuesday 6
August. This will be repeated on Wednesday 7 August. Both evenings will be held at the Faculty of Engineering, Lecture
Theatre 401.439, 20 Symonds Street 6 – 8 pm. Parents are welcome to attend. If you wish to go to either evening please see
Miss Griffin in her office M18 at morning interval.
SPORT
NETBALL (Willow Park): Willow Park Primary School are looking for 8 Netball umpires for their Zone Day next
Friday 21 June from 11.30am till 2.00pm down at Netball North Harbour. If you are available to help out and umpire please see
Mrs Kelly.
NETBALL (Saturday Only): The draw for Saturday 15 June will be posted up on the Sports Dept notice Board M9

WESTLAKE SKI TEAM: Could all the girls that returned their slips, stating that they are interested in being part of the school
Ski team, please meet in the Sports Department at interval today.
EQUESTRIAN (NISS Show Hunter Championships): All entries for this Equestrian Event close this Friday. Please see Mrs
Kelly with your entry form and your money asap. Payment can be paid in to the Sports Dept.
BADMINTON JUNIORS: A and B your ladder trials continue on Thurs 3.30 to 4.30pm and Mon 24 June, same time and same
place. Junior C Year 10 – your next trial is Mon 17 June in G3 3.30 to 4.30pm.
BADMINTON SENIOR SCHOOL- Senior C Games for Tuesday. The following teams are not playing this Tuesday 11 June;
Team 1, 8, 10 and 12. All other teams are playing. Check the notice board outside the business studies office and the Sports
Department to see who you are playing and the court you are on. SENIOR A and B every team is playing, check the
Department and Business Studies notice board.
BADMINTON JUNIORS: Year 10 trials next week. Junior A and B your ladder trials are on every Thursday in G3 3.30pm until
4:30. Remember to get a contract and pay your fees by Wednesday 24 June.
