Energy Poverty:<br />
Expand subsidised solar panel & energy efficiency scheme, creating<br />
installation jobs<br />
People in the 21 st century should never have to choose between food and heating.<br />
Energy companies have a monopoly and we need to develop and implement<br />
effective alternatives to fossil fuels immediately.<br />
An estimated 1 Million jobs in the renewable energy sector will be created over<br />
the next 10 years and these should be given priority over alternative sector<br />
developments.<br />
Innovation + Renewable Energy = Jobs!<br />
We will:<br />
· Work towards ensuring all homes are made energy efficient with thermal<br />
insulation.<br />
· Facilitate 3 rd generation (OPV) solar cell manufacturing infrastructure and<br />
establish apprenticeship installation programme of domestic solar panels<br />
· Offer incentives to local SME’s to develop renewable technologies in<br />
association with NaREC.<br />
