recreation for children and adults with disabilities.
VALUES
• Respect for each individual
• Dedication to safe and fun programs
• Collaboration for community access
• Commitment to enthusiastic service
VISION STATEMENT
To be a leading force, creating greater options that
enrich the life experiences of the participants,
families and communities we serve.
Welcome!
Northwest Special Recreation Association (NWSRA) was formed in 1973 to provide a full spectrum
of recreation services to individuals with disabilities. NWSRA is a partnership of 17 park districts
in the northwest suburbs of Chicago committed to supporting community access to recreation for
people with disabilities.
Celebrating Ability has been a long standing theme, creating an atmosphere in programs and in
the community to expect the best. Each citizen can participate at their highest level of ability and
experience a leisure lifestyle that is self fulfilling. We hope you enjoy the opportunities available.
