ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIPS: YEAR 11, 2012
Thank you for your request for information about Academic Scholarships for students entering Year 11
in 2012.
Frederick Irwin was established in 1991 and in 2011 has 1370 students in all years from Kindergarten
to Year 12.
It has a commitment to academic excellence and academic achievement, and the awarding of
Academic Scholarships for Year 11 students is a further expression of that commitment.
Frederick Irwin is an Anglican School which operates along traditional lines. All students wear School
Uniform and, within a disciplined, structured environment, all students are supported and encouraged
to achieve to their maximum potential.
A full range of WACE Courses at Stages 1, 2 and 3 is offered. Students are taught in modern, purpose
built, air-conditioned facilities.
A number of Academic Scholarships will be awarded in 2011 for students entering Year 11 in 2012.
The Scholarships are designed to support students of high academic ability and achievement during
their final two years of Secondary School. Each Scholarship will be worth 50% of the tuition fees for
the student in both Year 11 and Year 12.
Scholarships will be awarded on the basis of a common test, and a student’s past and present
performance at School. Continuation of the Scholarship from one year to the next will be dependent
upon a Scholarship student’s continuing satisfactory performance, conduct and contribution at School.
Relevant Information: Academic Scholarships
1. Scholarships are for students entering Year 11 in 2012.
2. Scholarship Value: 50% of the tuition fees for Year 11 and Year 12.
All other costs, levies, charges etc will be the responsibility of the
parents.
3. Applications close: by the close of the School Office (4.30 pm) Friday
8 July 2011.
Mailed applications must be post marked before the closing date.
Late applications will NOT be accepted.
4. Application Fee: $68.00 (cheques made payable to Frederick Irwin).

5. Scholarship Testing Day: Saturday 6 August 2011 at Frederick Irwin at 9.00 am.
6. Application Form, Application Fee and July 2010 and December 2010 School Reports (School
Reports are not required for students currently attending Frederick Irwin) should be sent to the
School by the close of the School Office (4.30 pm) Friday 8 July 2011.
Please note that students can apply for both Academic and Music Performance Scholarships, but, if
successful, will be awarded only one Scholarship.
