YOUTH MINISTRY HIGH SCHOOL MINISTRY Musicians and Singers Needed for our Sunday night P.R.A.I.S.E. Band Young Adult Musicians welcome to join! Please contact Amanda Cowley to set up an audition. All 9th - 12th Grade Youth are invited to join us after 6 PM Sunday Mass for our “Life Nights” from 7-9PM in the RE Room. December 12th - Life Night: Regifted (Gift of Self) December 19th Life Night: You’ll shoot Your Eye Out Christmas Party ($5 Pollyanna Gift) Middle School Youth Ministry! The Knights of Columbus Fr. Doyle Council #9715 All orders must be picked up BETWEEN 4:30 PM AND 7:30 PM ON FRIDAY, DECEMBER 17, 2010 outside the Fr. Doyle Social Hall at Corpus Christi School. BROTHER HOUSE A project of the Legion of Mary, works with homeless men. The men take showers, and we supply them with clean socks, underwear and pants. We need T-Shirts, WHITE athletic Socks, Underwear, and Work pants. Clothing does not have to be new, just clean. (These items are needed all year round.) Please bring your donations to the Ministry Room, place into large grey container and call Frank B. at 610-272-2461. Box Tops and Campbell's Soup Labels Needed!! Corpus Christi continues to collect General Mills Box Tops and Campbell's Soup Labels as a fundraiser for our school. Box Tops for Education can be found on many items produced by General Mills or its subsidiaries including Pillsbury, Betty Crocker, Ziploc, Huggies and others. Campbell's Labels for Education are not only on soups, but also on Pepperidge Farms products (including bread bags) and some Swanson products. A cardboard box is located on one of the tables in the Narthex for the collection of your box tops coupons and soup labels. Please take a minute before you toss out that can or box and check it for a coupon!!! If you have any questions about this collection program, feel free to contact Audrey DiPrinzio at 215-853-2566. Thank you for supporting our school!! SCRIP CORNER Do you buy even just one gift card for a Christmas present? Then why not buy it from our SCRIP program to help our fund-raising cause. The SCRIP program consists of many different “gift cards/certificates” that Corpus Christi is able to purchase at a discount. The SCRIP office sells them to you at face value, so you are not paying any more money than you would be paying at the store. You will have an account set up in our computer system that records your purchases and accumulates a credit for you to use for tuition or REC fees at ANY Catholic grade school, high school or college. These credits can be used for you, your children, nieces/nephews, grandchildren, or even strangers you meet on the street! We actually apply credits to the Father Loughran Scholarship Fund if a family elects to do so. You can accumulate credits for years before you use them, so if you just had a baby and are not even thinking about school yet, you can start using this program to accumulate credits so that when the time comes, you will be ready! GIVING TREE 2010 The Giving Tree Committee has begun delivering the gifts by the end of last week. Please return all gifts and certificates ASAP, but no later than Sunday, December 12th. Gifts must be delivered by December 16th to Visitation. If you have any questions please contact Kate Motley at 610-584-0510. Job Opening REC Office An assistant is needed for the REC office. On Mondays the hours are 4–8:30PM and as needed during the week for administrative work for REC teachers. All-day hours are required 4 to 5 x’s a year for in house retreats during sacramental preparation and on the actual day of sacrament reception. Thank You! BAPTISM INSTRUCTION SESSIONS: Parents and Godparents must attend Pre-Jordan Sacramental Preparation before the Baptism takes place. Prior to attendance, parents are requested to pre-register for the session by contacting the Parish Center Office 215-855-1311. Although instruction sessions are mandatory for both Parents and Godparents, you are required to attend one time only. If you have attended previously you are not required to come again. Ideally, attendance at the preparation session should occur before the child’s birth. Upcoming sessions are scheduled in the RE Room (in the church), at 7:30 PM on the 3rd Monday of the month: December 20th, January 16th and February 21st. REQUIREMENTS FOR GODPARENTS must be a registered member of a Catholic Parish and receive a Certificate of Eligibility from that Parish and have attended the Pre-Jordan Baptism class must have completed his/her 16th birthday must have been Baptized - Confirmed - received First Holy Communion - and actively practicing their faith - e.g., attending Mass, receiving Holy Communion - receiving the Sacrament of Penance if married - must be living in a valid sacramental marriage cannot be the parent of the child to be baptized the godparents are to be one male and one female one godparent may be a non-Catholic Christian witness with proper proof of his/her baptism — if a non-Catholic is asked to be a Christian witness - the other godparent MUST be Catholic a person who has left the Catholic Faith for any reason, may not be asked to carry out this responsibility Please note: The paperwork for the child’s baptism and certificates of eligibility MUST be completed at least two weeks prior to scheduling a baptism date. Certificates of eligibility must have a parish seal and cannot be faxed; they must be the original. Baptism is administered at 1:30PM EVERY SUNDAY. DAILY PRAYER CHAPEL OPEN: Visits to the Blessed Sacrament during the day may be made in the Church Chapel. The Chapel is open every day from 9AM to 3:30PM except Wednesday when it is open until 6:30PM. Please enter the chapel using the entrance walk on the side of the Parish House facing Supplee Road. EUCHARISTIC ADORATION WEDNESDAYS Eucharistic Adoration is scheduled every Wednesday, from 8:30 AM til 6:30 PM in the Church Chapel. Benediction is at 6:30 PM. (Novena devotions immediately following). Please enter the chapel using the entrance walk on the side of the Parish House facing Supplee Rd. (For information, please call 215-855- 1311). LEGION OF MARY: Wednesday evenings, 7:30 to 9:00 PM, in the Ministry Room of Corpus Christi Church. New members are sincerely welcomed at all meetings. MARRIAGES: Couples who are planning to be married are required to notify one of the parish priests no less than six months prior to the marriage and attend a Pre-Cana session. NOVENA DEVOTIONS: Devotions honoring the Immaculate Heart of Mary are offered on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month, and devotions to honor St. Peregrine, Patron Saint of Cancer Patients, are offered on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of the month, at 6:30PM in the Chapel. All are welcome to attend. OUR LADY OF HOPE PRAYER LINE: The Prayer Line may be called if you are in need of prayer. Call Anna Marie 215-368- 4672. PARISH CENTER OFFICE HOURS: Weekdays from 9AM to 12:30PM and 1:30PM to 5PM. Please come in or telephone during these hours concerning documents, registration, Mass cards, baptismal arrangements, etc. PARISH LIBRARY Hours: Sunday (all year) 7:15AM to 2PM (closed on Christmas Weekend, December 26th) PRAYER GROUP: to which ALL are invited meets on Thursday evenings in the Church Chapel at 8PM.
