CATHOLIC MINISTRIES APPEAL<br />
The key ingredient to the success of our Catholic Ministries<br />
Appeal is participation. Next weekend we will give everyone<br />
an opportunity to make a gift to the appeal if they have not<br />
already done so.<br />

Every year, the Catholic Ministries Appeal provides the means to continue the mission<br />
that Christ has entr<strong>us</strong>ted to <strong>us</strong>: to serve God by serving others.<br />
The work of the Catholic Ministries Appeal is evident in our Parishes. At the heart of<br />
living our faith are the Sacraments. An essential part of the life of the Sacraments is our<br />
priests <strong>and</strong> deacons. Through the Appeal, we support their <strong>pray</strong>er lives <strong>and</strong> education,<br />
<strong>and</strong> th<strong>us</strong> provide celebrants for baptisms, First Communion, Confirmations, marriages,<br />
<strong>and</strong> funerals.<br />
We also support spiritual <strong>and</strong> education development for lay leaders <strong>and</strong> <strong>pray</strong>er groups<br />
<strong>and</strong> continuing adult faith formation.<br />
The work of the Catholic Ministries Appeal is also evident when we care for God’s<br />
people who need ho<strong>us</strong>ing; food <strong>and</strong> clothing <strong>and</strong> we are able to provide these services<br />
through Catholic Charities <strong>and</strong> our Outreach Programs. When we celebrate special<br />
needs Masses for children <strong>and</strong> adults in our Diocese; <strong>and</strong> when our vibrant college<br />
camp<strong>us</strong> ministry <strong>and</strong> youth ministry programs encourage our young people to grow<br />
rooted in Christ <strong>and</strong> firm in the faith.<br />
My hope is that each family will make a gift. We cannot ask everyone to consider the<br />
same size gift, but we ask that your gift reflect how genero<strong>us</strong> God has been to you<br />
<strong>with</strong> His gifts.<br />
No gift is too small <strong>and</strong> all gifts make a difference in the lives of others!<br />
