Currently, targets are buried within the Expand/Relocate section of the<br />

Economic Development website. These targets could be brought forward<br />

to the homepage, featured in the rotating header image or other<br />

featured column.<br />

Information provided on each target industry should also be more robust,<br />

using graphics to express top sales messages. Currently, target industry<br />

pages are heavy with written copy and core messages (e.g., available<br />

properties, skilled talent, existing employers and suppliers) are difficult to<br />

tease out of the write up.<br />

In addition to bolstering target audience presence on the website, make sure<br />

the IDB has a complete portfolio of tailored marketing tools for each. For<br />

example, create presentations tailored to each specific audience, engaging<br />

in public relations focused on target audience publications, and boosting<br />

correlation between Clarksville and target audiences through social media<br />

(e.g., #ClarksvilleAutomotive, #ClarksvilleMedical).<br />

Craft news stories about Clarksville-Montgomery County to promote<br />

regionally as well as in national business and trade publications/websites.<br />

Expand media tours to include journalists from outside of the Nashville<br />

market. In particular, invite representatives from target audience trade<br />

publications.<br />

Actively participate in the Nashville Chamber’s marketing missions and site<br />

consultant tours.<br />

Continue to host your own site consultant and business influencer events in<br />

Clarksville-Montgomery County, building the itinerary around major cultural<br />

or sports events in the region (e.g., the Country Music Awards event in<br />

2013).<br />

Take authorship of Clarksville’s Wikipedia page and ensure that its content<br />
