Convention and Visitors Bureau<br />
Retain FY13 level of funding for group bid fees. Bid fees are critical when<br />
attracting large groups that have the ability to spend millions in Clarksville- FY15 Ongoing Convention and Visitors Bureau<br />
Montgomery County.<br />
Trade shows are critical events whereby the CVB promotes the destination to<br />
potential group planners. This line item is reduced in the FY14 budget by<br />
$16K from FY13. Investing that $16K in trade show attendance could FY15 Ongoing Convention and Visitors Bureau<br />
deliver over a million dollars in spending from potential new groups that<br />
could be brought to the destination.<br />
Target team sports based on existing facilities and available lodging during<br />
desired event periods. New indoor multi-purpose facilities will allow growth FY15 Ongoing Convention and Visitors Bureau<br />
during the slow winter months of January – March.<br />
Coordinate group tour sales and promotions with state and Middle TN<br />
partners for cost-effectiveness to drive room sales during need periods.<br />
Sunday night groups are rare and most desired to fill the slowest night of<br />
the week in local lodging.<br />

Support the development of a Multi-Purpose Event Center at Exit 4<br />
(2014 - 2015). Begin marketing as soon as construction is approved.<br />
Support the Development of a Core Entertainment District as the<br />
Heart of Clarksville (2024).<br />
