SYSTEM 5 Specifications
General
SYSTEM 5 consists of a multi-sport computer console, swim and diving keyboard inserts, built-in clock
calendar, and cable harness. Timing and placing capability for up to ten individual lanes. Includes
data transfer to IBM or compatible computers. Timer is compatible with all COLORADO TIME SYSTEMS ’
equipment.

Power
Primary power source includes eight (8) internal D-cell alkaline batteries for safety. Alternate power is
115VAC via wall transformer. Optional: 220V transfer.
Timing and Placing
Select timing resolution of 0.001 or 0.01 second with a timing range of 99:59.999.
Front Panel Display
Selectable lane or place finish. Total number of characters: 2,000. Race and Lane status, Pad status,
Lane Arming status, and HELP text are displayed on the 25 x 80 line character LCD display to allow
operator to see the entire race status at a glance. Includes on-screen battery gauge for monitoring
battery power.
Keyboard
Keyboard uses removable inserts for multi-sport use. Swimming and Diving keyboard inserts included.
Pace Clock, Synchro and Water Polo inserts and software are sold separately.
Splits
Race split times are printed as they occur. Far-end splits capability using single computer console.
Programming and Removable Keyboard Insert
The SYSTEM 5 software can be customized and the new configuration is stored internally. Removable
keyboard inserts and computer interface provide multi-sport capability.

System 5 Backpanel
External Printer Capability
SYSTEM 5 interfaces to any full-size IBM compatible printer for clear, easy to
read customized print-outs. Print race results, splits or an entire condensed
meet summary at any time during or after the event. Provide
your own printer or select a printer through Colorado Time Systems.
Multiple inputs and outputs provide for an external
printer, two ports for meet management interface,
scoreboard interface, expansion port for other sports,
and separate swimming I/O for far-end splits.
Adjustable Full Matrix LCD Display
The SYSTEM 5 screen is a full-size LCD display providing complete race information including
our “mini scoreboard” feature. A contrast control assures clear, crisp images in any
environment.
Additional on-screen windows allow selections for events, equipment options,
and self-diagnostics for the timer, touchpads, cables, scoreboard and buttons.
The SYSTEM 5 operates up to 40 hours on eight “D” batteries with
on-screen gauge to monitor power reserve. A 115V wall transformer
is included as an alternate power source.
System 5 Components
Colorado Time Systems has engineered our systems
to be fully compatible with each generation of timers, start systems,
scoreboards and touchpads. So your SYSTEM 5 will interface with all
your Colorado equipment.
Optional relay judging platforms provide a fair and accurate way to judge relay starts. The platform automatically
compares the touch of an incoming swimmer with the starting swimmer’s time of departure. Contact your Colorado
Time Systems Sales Representative for information.
Multi-Sport Options
Swimming and manual diving programs are standard. The SYSTEM 5 offers optional changeable keyboard inserts and
software programs for additional sports including water
polo, synchronized swimming, pace clock and additional
hardware for automatic entry of diving scores. As with
all Colorado systems, these programs interface with
our 3009 and 4009 series scoreboards.
