Page Six — January 13, 2013 Thank You To St. Anthony Parishioners… from the Joliet Diocese Woman's Choice Services and the Pregnancy Assistance Services South Suburbs (P.A.S.S.). Through your generosity WCS received over $5,000 from their "Baby Bottle" campaign and P.A.S.S. received over $2,000 in new/used baby products. Special thanks to Providence High School student, Jill Alles, who personally collected over $500 for WCS. THANK YOU to all who have prayed for and/or donated in any way to the pro-life mission of the Catholic Church. From PASS Network For Life SANCTITY OF HUMAN LIFE SUNDAY JANUARY 20, 2013 40 years ago our country made abortions legal, yet our work is never ending... For those in the difficult position of facing an unplanned pregnancy, the Gospel of Jesus Christ remains the only true hope in the midst of seemingly hopeless circumstances. The Body of Christ, His Church, must stand in the gap on behalf of our land, and renew our commitment to care for those less fortunate, not out of misguided pity or self-righteous judgment, but out of a God-given compassion for all people – for we each are shaped in the very image of God Himself. It is time to restore the family unit. One thing we do know is for every woman who seeks our services, there is a young man and they are in some kind of relationship. The staff and volunteers of PASS Pregnancy Care Centers have faithfully served the South Suburbs for 29 years. Through the support of churches, businesses, and families PASS has always offered its services free of charge. Women, men, and children are being set free from the bondage of sin through the life-changing power of Jesus Christ. In addition to sharing the Gospel with our clients, PASS Pregnancy Care Centers ministers in a number of different ways, including: Pregnancy Services. Free and confidential services including pregnancy tests, limited OB ultrasound, options counseling, material resources including: maternity and baby clothing, diapers, formula, car seats and furnishings. IMPACT! Abstinence Education. Teaches young people the benefits of abstinence, and enables healthy choices. PASS takes the vital abstinence ‘til marriage message to schools, churches and youth organizations. Hope and Healing. Restores the lives of women and men struggling with issues related to past hurts, abortion, abuse. It is our hope that by serving the women and men in our community by meeting their physical, emotional and material needs, they will see the love of Jesus Christ and will cling to the hope offered only in Him. Our goal is to share God’s love with expectant mothers and fathers, so they will open their hearts to Jesus and they will choose life. He is the reason for the existence of this ministry, and He is the reason that over 750 women chose life for their unborn children last year alone. Now with the acceptance of chemical abortions (Abortifacients) the devil is at work desensitizing our youth to yet another level of secrecy. PASS is working for eyes to be opened to the long term effects of abortion, which affects us all. Saint Anthony Catholic Church ROSARY OF LIFE Tuesday, Jan. 22nd at 7 pm Padua Center Chapel. Please join us. PRO LIFE REFLECTION When you hold a banquet, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, and the blind. Then indeed will you be blessed because they have no way to repay you. —LK 14:13-14 Jesus calls us to the purest form of love, that is, love of those who cannot repay us. The unborn children, whose lives we seek to protect, cannot repay us and do not even know we are fighting for them. Pro-life work is motivated by pure love. Lord, increase my love for children in the womb who cannot acknowledge or repay me. May You be my only reward. ADORATION CHAPEL OF MERCY As we have entered into a new year on both the liturgical and civil calendars and made our New Years resolutions, I hope one of those resolutions was to grow in your faith and to know our Lord more intimately. To help you grow in your relationship with our Lord, please consider spending an hour with Him in Eucharistic Adoration. You are welcome to spend time with Him in the Chapel of Mercy, but are especially invited to commit to a regular hour each week. The following hours need regular adorers. Please fill out an Invitation to Adore and drop it at the church office or in the offering, or Email Valpo77@aol.com, or call 708-748-4394 (please leave message).
