CALTEX – AA SMARTFUEL CARD DISCOUNT ACCEPTANCE TERMS
AND CONDITIONS
The Fuel discounts as notified and regularly updated in store and at
www.aasmartfuel.co.nz/caltex (Discounts”) will be provided to AA Smartfuel Card cardholders
by participating Caltex service stations (defined below) will be provided and are redeemable
on the following terms and conditions:
1. Only AA Smartfuel Cards will be accepted at participating Caltex Service Stations during the
promotion period, As notified and regularly updated in store and at
www.aasmartfuel.co.nz/caltex (“Promotion Period””)
2. Participating Caltex service stations will provide the Discounts notified in store or on AA
Smartfuel’s website www.aasmartfuel.co.nz/caltex to AA Smartfuel Card cardholders in
respect of qualifying AA Smartfuel Card transactions as described here.
3. AA Smartfuel Card cardholders must spend a minimum of NZ$40 (“Minimum Qualifying
Spend”) on fuel products as specified in point 4 to qualify for the Discount per litre. Purchases
of car wash, shop goods, LPG Bottle swap/fill, Automotive LPG or lubricants will not be
included in the calculation of the Minimum Qualifying Spend.
4. The AA Smartfuel Card Discount per litre is only applicable only to purchases of the following
fuel grades: 91 Unleaded, 95 Unleaded and Diesel at Caltex retail fuel stations only (each a
"Qualifying Fuel Grade"). Purchases of any other fuel type will not be included in the
calculation of the Minimum Qualifying Spend.
5. Discounts may only be redeemed by AA Smartfuel Card cardholders as part of a purchase
transaction of a Qualifying Fuel Grade where the relevant cardholder pays for the Minimum
Qualifying Spend as the participating Caltex service station with Cash or by EFT-POS,
StarCash or Credit Card. The Discounts are not valid for Automotive LPG purchases.
6. The redemption of Discounts from the AA Smartfuel Card will apply to each whole litre of
Qualifying Fuel Grade purchased to a maximum of 50 (fifty) litres. Any literage purchased
above 50 litres will revert to the applicable Qualifying Fuel Grade pump price at the time of
the transaction. The fuel purchase transaction will be rounded down to the nearest whole
litre.
7. Discounts may only be redeemed by AA Smartfuel Card cardholders as part of a purchase
transaction of a single Qualifying Fuel Grade per transaction. Discounts cannot be redeemed
across more than one Qualifying Fuel Grade per transaction.
8. The value of any Discount that can be redeemed in any one transaction is limited to the lesser
of the applicable Qualifying Fuel Grade pump price or the available accumulated AA Smartfuel
Card discounts at time of the transaction. The balance of the AA Smartfuel Card is reset to
zero on redemption and no discount balance may be carried forward by the cardholder.
9. To redeem any Discounts, the AA Smartfuel Card cardholder must first have registered their
AA Smartfuel Card in accordance with the terms and conditions issued by AA Smartfuel
Limited. If an AA Smartfuel Card is not officially registered, the cardholder will provided with
the Discounts, however such Discounts cannot be redeemed until the relevant card is
officially registered with AA Smartfuel Limited.
10. Registered AA Smartfuel Card cardholders have the choice of:

a. redeeming the relevant discount at the time it is provided in connection with a purchase
transaction and in conjunction with any other pre- loaded discount; or
b. having the relevant discount loaded to the card for a future purchase transaction with any
other pre-loaded discounts
provided that at the time of any purchase, an AA Smartfuel Card cardholder is not permitted
to redeem a discount in advance of being provided with the relevant discounts in respect of
that purchase.
11. Only one AA Smartfuel Card discount is valid per fuel purchase. AA Smartfuel Card discount
redemptions cannot be split across multiple purchases or multiple Qualifying Fuel Grades.
12. AA Smartfuel Card fuel discounts cannot be used in conjunction with any other fuel discount
promotions including any Supermarket Fuel Docket vouchers, StarCard, Cardlink, or other
Fuel Card transactions.
13. AA Smartfuel Card fuel discounts are not redeemable at Caltex diesel stops (truck stops).
14. AA Smartfuel Card discounts are not redeemable for cash.
15. Only original, undamaged AA Smartfuel Cards may be used at Caltex service stations.
16. Chevron New Zealand reserves the right to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend or
recommence the Discounts at any time, including (without limitation) if for any reason the
Discounts is interfered with or disrupted in any way (including by vandalism, power failures,
natural disasters, acts of God, civil unrest, strikes, computer bugs or viruses, tampering or
technical failures).
17. Chevron does not make any representation or warranty of any kind, express or implied,
including but not limited to the accuracy of the information published by AASmartfuel Limited
on its website and the Discounts, and Promotion Periods as notified at the participating Caltex
Retail Service Stations.
18. By using an AA Smartfuel Card you are agreeing to comply with and be bound by:
a. the terms and conditions published by AA Smartfuel Limited, which terms and conditions are
available at www.aasmartfuel.co.nz/caltex ; and
b. these terms and conditions.
In the event of any conflict between the AA Smartfuel Card terms and conditions and these
terms and conditions, the AA Smartfuel Card terms and conditions shall apply.
AA Smartfuel Card discounts must be redeemed in accordance with the terms and conditions
published and updated by AA Smartfuel Limited at www.aasmartfuel.co.nz/caltex
