SENIOR ACCOUNTANT: CONSUMER RELATIONS<br />

DEPARTMENT: FINANCE<br />

LEVEL : 5<br />

Salary : R247 680, R253 905, R260 283 p.a.<br />

Requirements: Grade 12 and a B Degree or National Diploma with Accounting III<br />

or Municipal Accounting III as a major subject plus five years relevant experience.<br />

Knowledge of the Municipal Property Rates Act, Municipal Finance Management<br />

Act, Municipal Systems Act. Computer Literacy. Communication and be in<br />

possession of a valid code B driver’s license.<br />

Key Performance Areas: Supervise and control over consumer services actions<br />

personnel, including all cashiers and enquiries personnel, ensure that daily banking<br />

are balanced daily and banked on time, balancing of consumer debtor controls and<br />

deposits register, ensure that all consumer levies are done correctly and that all<br />

necessary monies are collected according to the by-laws and council resolutions,<br />

update engineering service fees on the relevant stand account and provide<br />

engineering department with information, ensure that meter readings are done on<br />

time and captured correctly.<br />

Requirements: Grade 12 and a relevant B Degree or National Diploma with<br />

accounting III or Municipal Accounting III as a major subject plus five years<br />

relevant experience. Knowledge of the Municipal Finance Management Act,<br />

Key Performance Areas: Administer all functions relating to sale of stands,<br />

Council properties, sundry debtors, credit control on sale of stands, Council<br />

properties and issuing of clearances and supervise the staff in the Estate affairs<br />

department. Open estate accounts in the name of the new buyers, verify and sign<br />

clearances, ensure that proper allocations are made in Erf register, ensure counter


alancing of various votes as well as sundry debtors with VAT outstanding.<br />

REQUIREMENTS : N3 heavy current and trade test as required by the<br />

Occupational Health and Safety Act. ORHVS (module 1-10) above 80%. Have<br />

experience up to 88kV equipment, Must be in position of valid Code 10 Driver<br />

license, Experience on low to high voltage (Up to 88kV) networks\ and electrical<br />

installation inspection. Computer literacy in MS word, MS Excel and MS Power<br />

point is required. Have sound knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act.<br />

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS : Primary duties will includes: Ensuring that the


following are performed and reported on correctly: Works orders, Pre-task<br />

and authorized to operate. (e.g. Area platform).Take care that all vehicles and machines<br />

other duties assigned by the Municipal Manager. Be prepared to work irregular<br />
