Betty Allen (CFO) took a few precious moments to share her departmental
happenings with us.
All branch acquisitions and renovations require her
involvement and she has been very busy indeed.
In Houston, the Maintenance Department has been
spending time at the new property on Bennington Road
(about 5 miles from Houston Corporate Headquarters). The
facility has about 3,000 sq. ft. of office and over 90,000 in
warehouse space. Renovations will begin shortly and should
be ready for occupancy before year end.
July 15, Building B at Houston Corporate Headquarters
will be completed and ready for occupancy barring delays.
South Africa News: Written by Vince Pittman
Lockwood South Africa has been nominated as one of the top emerging
“Broad Based Black Economic Empowerment” (BBBEE) companies of
2008, in the small business sector. The nomination is in recognition of our
participation and excellence in the different pillars of BBBEE. We are
especially proud of our progression and recognition in this area, as it means
that someone in our industry has recognized our efforts. Full credit for this
nomination and our success in Black Economic Employment goes to our
department lead and compliance officer, Kim Paul. Our participation in
BBBEE is important for two reasons: 1) it shows Lockwood’s dedication
and willingness to improve the lives of our employees and their
communities, and 2) it is an integral part of the qualification process in
reviewing our ability to participate in Capital Projects. Let’s all give a hand
to Kim and the employees of Lockwood South Africa for their efforts and
hard work.
