The Intersection of Three Cylinders<br />
This discovery project extends the problem of finding the volume of two intersecting cylinders given in Exercise<br />
66 in Section 6.2. This is a very thought-provoking project for students with good geometric intuition.<br />
It is worthwhile for students to work on it even if they don’t wind up with the correct answer. If the students<br />
are mechanically inclined, perhaps ask them to build a model of the relevant solid. A good solution is given<br />
in the Complete Solutions Manual.<br />
