How to avoid being in a<br />
COLLISION!<br />
You will notice that I chose to use the word “collision” in<br />
this article and not the word “accident”.<br />
This is because I am one of the many people who<br />
believe that Road Traffic “Accidents” are actually quite<br />
rare events.<br />
Let me give you an example of what might be considered to be a genuine Road Traffic<br />
“Accident”. Imagine someone is driving down a road and there is a sudden extremely strong<br />
gust of wind which uproots a tree and that tree then lands directly on top of their vehicle -<br />
the only way that individual could possibly have avoided this would have been simply not to<br />
have been there in the first place!<br />
Unfortunately, when you investigate in detail the great majority of all these other “collisions”<br />
that people are involved in you discover that the reason why the collision happened was<br />
because one or more of the road users involved in that collision did not behave in a manner<br />
which suited the circumstances at that time. In other words, the great majority of these<br />
collisions are down to the human beings’ behaviour!<br />
