WHAT TO EXPECT:
St. Louis, the Gateway to the West, is the
second-largest city in Missouri and the
fourth-largest city in the Midwest.
St. Louis is well known for its Gateway
Arch, the centerpiece of Jefferson National
Expansion Memorial, commemorating the
Louisiana Purchase and U.S. expansion
into the West in the 19th century. The
630-foot tall Gateway Arch was designed
by architect Eero Saarinen and completed
in October of 1965. The city features
more than 100 parks - among them
are the Missouri Botanical Garden and
Citygarden, a sculpture park that is divided
into three sections: river bluffs, flood plains
and urban gardens. St. Louis boasts a
rich mixture of culinary interests, from
soul food, Italian and German to Bosnian
and Vietnamese. Local specialties
include toasted ravioli, gooey butter cake,
St. Louis-style pizza, pork steak and
barbecue.
Cultural highlights include the St. Louis Art
Museum, which houses over 30,000 works
of art including works by Monet, Van Gogh

Union Station, a marketplace with over
85 shops, restaurants and entertainment
venues.
CONFERENCE ATTIRE:
Participants are encouraged to wear
business attire or business casual, as
appropriate. Attire for the Awards Dinner
and Scholarship Program is cocktail wear.
RESPONSIBLE DRINKING POLICY:
All AMAC-sponsored receptions offer soft
drinks, in addition to alcoholic beverages.
No alcohol will be served to anyone under
the age of 21. If you choose to consume
alcohol, please drink responsibly.

CONFERENCE CENTER:
The America’s Center Convention
Complex is located at 700 Convention
Plaza in the heart of downtown St. Louis.
The complex is the largest convention
hall space in metropolitan St. Louis, and
it is home to four meeting facilities under
one roof: Cervantes Convention Center,
Edward Jones Dome, St. Louis Executive
Conference Center and the Ferrara
Theatre. It features over 500,000 square
feet of exhibit space and 80 meeting
rooms. Parking is available in several
nearby garages and surface lots.
The complex recently underwent a major
three-year renovation that focused on
design, décor and energy efficiency.
Additionally, escalators were added,
elevators were upgraded and directional
signs were enhanced, improving mobility
within the complex.
