The new Panamera
We have no experience in constructing
large, heavy limousines. Fortunately.
The new Panamera.
It’s always better to find the solution in your own
ranks. So there were no specific guidelines that
required rigid compliance. A limousine was not
wanted, neither was an estate or a coupé. What
we wanted was a Porsche. The new Panamera.
It’s all about driving as it was meant to be. And now
it doesn’t matter if you’re sitting in the front or in
the back. Over the course of the design process,
the Panamera models became powerful sportscars,
From left to right: Panamera 4S, Panamera S and Panamera Turbo
designed for long trips for four, with lots of luggage
and plenty of comfort but with the feeling of a
sportscar.
The models are three interpretations
of one idea.
The new Panamera Turbo embodies high performance
and sporty dynamics – it’s not called a turbo for
nothing. The Panamera S and Panamera 4S also
bring action to the breed. But what all Panamera
models have in common is that they dynamically
interpret the concept of luxury.
A novelty in the premium class:
sportscar engineering for four.
The new Panamera S and 4S have a 4.8 litre V8
cylinder naturally aspirated engine with direct fuel
injection (DFI), VarioCam Plus and a variable intake
system. It develops 294 kW (400 hp) at 6,500 rpm
and a maximum torque of 500 Nm between 3,500
rpm and 5,000 rpm. The rear-wheel drive Panamera S
with manual transmission can accelerate from 0 to
100 km/h in just 5.6 seconds. Its top speed is
285 km/h. With the optional Porsche dual clutch
transmission (Porsche Doppelkupplung – PDK),
these figures are 5.4 seconds and 283 km/h. The
seven-gear PDK, standard in both the Panamera 4S
and Panamera Turbo, distributes power between
the front and rear axles by the intelligent all-wheel
drive Porsche Traction Management (PTM) system
with an electronically controlled multi-disc clutch.
For optimum traction and stability. The Panamera 4S
accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.0 seconds
and has a top speed of 282 km/h. The new Panamera
Turbo has a 4.8 litre V8 cylinder bi-turbo engine
with direct fuel injection (DFI), VarioCam Plus, and
charge-air cooling. It generates 368 kW (500 hp) at
6,000 rpm. Its maximum torque of 700 Nm is
attained between 2,250 rpm and 4,500 rpm.
Its top speed is 303 km/h. And it can accelerate
from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.2 seconds.
Sportiness at the push of a button.
With the sport button, which comes as standard
on all vehicles in the Panamera series, you can
choose between comfort or sporty tuning. New to
the premium class are the optional Sport Chrono
Package Plus for the Panamera S and Panamera
4S, and the Sport Chrono Package Turbo for the
Panamera Turbo.
