May 7 – 8, 2010—Friday, 9:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.; Friday, free session at 8:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m.; Saturday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
CHAP Statement of Faith
The Bible is the inspired and infallible Word of God and constitutes
His completed and final revelation to man. The Bible, in its original
autographs, is without error in whole and in part.
God has existed from all eternity in three persons: God the Father,
God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ was God in human
flesh being fully God and fully man, except without sin.
All men are in violation of God’s righteous requirements and His
holy character both by nature and act, and are therefore under His
wrath and just condemnation.
The central purpose of the coming of Jesus Christ was to pay
the penalty for man’s sin through His substitutionary atoning
death on the cross, the successful accomplishment of which was
attested to by His subsequent visible, bodily resurrection so that
we can enter into an intimate, personal relationship with Him and
know the love, forgiveness, and mercy of God through Jesus Christ
our Lord.
Salvation is offered as a gift, free to the sinner. This gift must be
responded to by individual faith, not trusting in any personal works whatsoever,
but in the sacrificial death of Jesus Christ alone.
CHAP Mission Statement
CHAP, the Christian Homeschool Association of Pennsylvania,
exists to support and encourage home educators. It is a distinctly
Christian organization with a statement of faith. CHAP seeks to nurture
education that is Christian, and supports education that is in harmony
with Judeo-Christian principles.
CHAP Goals
• To foster homeschooling by educating political leaders on the local,
state, and federal levels.
• To inform and educate the general public on the benefits of homeschooling.
• To foster homeschooling in local churches.
• To strengthen and equip home educators.
• To inform current and potential homeschoolers of regulations which
affect them.
• To strengthen and equip support groups and their leaders.
CHAP Foundation
For some years now, members of the Christian Homeschool Association
of Pennsylvania (CHAP) Board have felt a desire to have
an outreach to home educators in times of need. This desire was
brought into sharper focus when the Home School Legal Defense
Association established the Homeschool Foundation as a charitable arm
of the HSLDA. In order to facilitate such an outreach by CHAP, the
Board has established a sister organization called the CHAP Foundation.
It is incorporated in Pennsylvania as a not-for-profit corporation.
The Foundation received its IRS certification as a 501(c)(3) corporation
allowing us to issue tax deductible receipts to donors.

Membership in CHAP
Since 1986, CHAP has been an active and vital advocate for private
Christian homeschoolers in Pennsylvania.
CHAP has embarked on a path to draw kindred spirits to be members
in the CHAP mission. Our membership will open communications
heretofore unable to be expressed regarding political candidates,
legislative threats in Washington or Harrisburg, and information
regarding homeschool options. Membership helps support CHAP
to continue as your source of information, your encourager, and advocate.

membership, you will enjoy the following benefits:

association.
• A one-year subscription to the CHAP Magazine—your best source
of legal, legislative and education news; how-to and inspirational

The workings of a CHAP Membership
Your membership with CHAP starts the day you sign up and pay the
membership fee. Membership is annual and requires renewal on or
before the day of your original registration anniversary date. You
will receive an email from CHAP notifying you of your upcoming
renewal date. When you register as a CHAP Member, an email with
a CHAP Membership Card will be sent to the email address you enter
on the registration form. You can print the membership card and
place it in your wallet to use as proof of your membership. If you
sign up at the CHAP Convention, the convention admission discount
will be deducted from your membership fee and an email with your
membership card will be sent to the email address you supplied on
the registration form. If joining at any other time of the year, CHAP
membership convention discount will automatically be applied to the
very next, and only the next, CHAP Convention. Discounts cannot
be carried over. This membership gives you exclusive benefits; however
the benefits are not guaranteed and may be changed at any time
without notice.
What is the difference between being a CHAP member versus a CHAP
affiliate? A CHAP member is a family who has paid the $25 membership
fee, receives the CHAP membership card, and receives the benefits
listed above. A CHAP affiliate is a family who is in our database
due to having attended the convention or simply contacted our office
for information and shared their contact information with us.
