Schedule Notes: Next weekend our nation celebrates
Labor Day. There will be NO SCRIP sales on Saturday or
Sunday in observance of this national holiday.

pick up a new order form every now and then to see the
many opportunities there are to earn SCRIP credit.

singing on Sunday, is the ability to not just listen to the
music and words but to think about them spiritually and let
it touch and bring joy to my heart. It does not hurt that the
music selected I consider to be beautiful and seasonally
appropriate music, given the readings, that speaks to the
soul.
The Adult Choir begins rehearsals on Thursday,

Have you been inspired by the beautiful sounds our handbells
make? Do you want to have fun and fellowship while serving God
and others? An opportunity is coming your way to learn about
ringing handbells! There will be a beginner’s workshop in handbell
ringing on the evening of Wednesday, September 5, from 5:30
p.m. to 6:30 p.m. in Church. Jane Snow, a resident of Fort Wayne
and an expert in handbells for 30+ years will be our guest leader
for the session. All adults and youth of high school age are
welcome to attend. Your attendance is not a commitment for you
to ring in the handbell choir, but I hope you will love it enough to
consider that as a possibility at some point. If you can count to
four, if you like to have fun, and if you are alive and

PARISH CHILDREN’S CHOIR BEGINS SOON
Our Parish Children’s Choir begins the new season on
Tuesday, September 11, from 3:30 p.m. - 4:15 p.m. in the
Church, with snacks at 3:15 p.m. All children from the parish,
grades 2 through 6 are welcome. The choir will rehearse each
Tuesday and will sing once a month at a weekend Mass and on
Christmas Eve. This is a wonderful opportunity for children to
have fun, learn music skills, and to lead in prayer and song at

THE CONRAD CIERNIAK MEMORIAL FUND
FOR CANCER RESEARCH
Conrad Cierniak was a member of St. Charles Parish
and coached St. Charles basketball for many years. He
died in December, 2009 after a long battle with cancer.
His family and friends have founded the Conrad
Cierniak Memorial Fund in his honor to help fight the battle
against cancer.
On Sunday, September 9, the Second Annual Conrad
Cierniak Memorial Golf Outing will be held at Chestnut Hills
Golf Course on Illinois Rd, F.W. The day will start with a lunch at
11:00 a.m., followed by a Florida Scramble with shotgun start at
12:00 noon. Entry fee is $75 per golfer.
