Dr. Marilyn Keiser is Chancellor’s Professor of Music at The Jacobs School of Music, Indiana University, Bloomington
where she taught courses in applied organ and sacred music for 25 years. As of the most highly respected organ
recitalists of today, she has presented programs throughout the United States and Europe including The Kennedy
Center in Washington, D.C.; The American Cathedral in Paris; and Royal Victoria Hall in Singapore. Her concert at St.
Charles will include organ music by Bach, Handel, Vierne, Guilmant, Harris, Howells, and American composers, Dan
Locklair, Craig Phillips, and Mark Jones.

organ.

SCRIP NEWS
School Closing Change:– As of February 11, St. Charles will
no longer follow the Fort Wayne Community directive; Mr. Sordelet
will now announce St. Charles independently. That means that if
St. Charles has a 2-hour delay on a Friday, SCRIP sales will also
be delayed 2 hours, taking place from 10:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. If St.
Charles closes, there are no SCRIP sales. A 2-hour delay on a
Monday means school orders will still be filled by the end of the
school day, if there is a cancellation on a Monday, there are no
SCRIP sales.
Reminder: We still have quite a few SCRIP Credit Statements
that have not been picked up. You have earned the credit and the
right to decide how to use it. There are options besides tuition. If
you purchased SCRIP any time from June-December, 2010 and
have not picked up your statement, please pick up your statement
today!

Friday Adoration and Benediction will not be held this
month. During the season of Lent, Adoration and
Benediction will be held every Friday after the 7:00
p.m. Mass.
FIRST SATURDAY OF THE MONTH-DEVOTIONS & ROSARY

As part of our faith community’s Lenten observance, we
will participate in Catholic Relief Services’ Lenten
program, Operation Rice Bowl. Since 1975, Operation
Rice Bowl has inspired Catholics in the United Sates to
pray, fast, and give as we increase our understanding of
our global community. We will connect this
understanding with the principles of Catholic Social Teaching
throughout our Lenten journey. We encourage you to participate in
Operation Rice Bowl at home with your family and loved ones.
Rice Bowls will be available next weekend.
LARGE FAMILY ASSISTANCE
FROM THE DIOCESE OF FORT WAYNE-SOUTH BEND
You may apply if your family has three or more students who
attend or will be attending a Catholic elementary and/or high
school in the Diocese (Kindergarten through Grade 12), and at
least one parent is an active, contributing and registered
parishioner, which will be verified by the parish by notification from
the Catholic Schools Office. You must apply for tuition assistance
at the local school level (following school procedure) and apply for
Large Family Fund tuition assistance using FACTS Grant & Aid
Assessment by May 1, 2011. No late applications will be
accepted.
Families can apply on-line at www.factstuitionaid.com or use a
traditional paper application which is available from Cece at the
St. Charles Parish Office. Fee is $25 per family. Please make sure
you list all the schools your children attend. i.e., St. Charles,
Bishop Dwenger, etc.
