EIGHTEENTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME
The crowd in today’s Gospel demanded a sign of Jesus
and wanted to know what “work” He did to inspire their
faith. May our faithful stewardship be a sign to others
that we, like the Ephesians in the second reading, have
laid aside our former way of life and acquired a “fresh,
spiritual way of thinking” in Christ.
FROM THE ORGAN BENCH
“LEARN TO RING HANDBELLS!” Coming Soon
We are privileged here at St. Charles to have a 4 octave, 49 bells
set of Malmark Handbells. And, we have a group of people who
ring these handbells once a month or so at Mass during the
academic year, most at the 5:00 p.m. Mass on Saturdays. Some
in this group have rung bells for 10 or more years.
During the last year, I have had several people approach me
wanting to learn how to ring handbells. So, the opportunity will
be coming soon for all those interested in learning!
JANE YEOMAN SNOW, a Fort Wayne resident and director of
handbells for more than 35 years, will join us for a session early
this fall for those interested in learning how to ring. This will be
strictly an informational and hands-on learning situation and no
one will be forced into signing up to play regularly unless you are
interested. More information will be forthcoming in the bulletin in
the next several weeks when a date has been scheduled for the
interest session. STAY “TUNED”!
