Remote Control Panel<br />

Description<br />

The RCP 5044 is a slimline 1RU 19” rack mount control panel<br />

designed for use with the Series 5000 product line. The panel<br />

can be used with our without the APPolo control system and<br />

will provide full remote control and monitoring capability for any<br />

Series 5000 module connected to the system.<br />

Featuring a backlit alphanumeric display, user assignable<br />

illuminated buttons and digital rotary controls it is possible to<br />

review and adjust all parameters for any selected module. The<br />

panel supports both serial and network (TCP/IP) connectivity<br />

and when used on a network the panel can be located virtually<br />

anywhere on the system network. A standard PC browser<br />

interface is provided for any panel maintenance, confi guration<br />

and software updates.<br />

This is an ideal solution for smaller installations, control rooms,<br />

equipment rooms, outside broadcast or any location where<br />

running the APPolo control system.<br />

The panel can be user confi gured to show only the functions<br />

which you need to monitor and /or need to adjust. Panel<br />

function, button colors and even the structure can be user<br />

confi gured to suit the specifi c application.<br />

When panels are used in conjunction with APPolo desktop<br />

clients in a system, then any changes made on the APPolo<br />

client GUI is immediately refl ected on the panel, and visa versa.<br />

Up to fi ve panels can be used on any given system<br />

(combination of APPolo clients and panels is limited to fi ve<br />

max)<br />

In this example for a small installation the Series 5000 system<br />

is using the basic RCT 5021 as the main controller. One panel is<br />

located in close proximity to the system and the interface is serial.<br />

It is also possible to use the LAN port on the panel to add network<br />

connectivity to additional panels and also APPolo control system<br />

clients for expansion.<br />

This example is using the RCT<br />

5031 Master Controller in a larger<br />

system. All devices connect into<br />

the system over the network. Up<br />

to fi ve networked devices are<br />

supported by the RCT 5031 LAN<br />

controller and this can be any<br />

mix of panels and APPolo GUI<br />

terminals.<br />

Connectivity<br />

There are two ways to interface the RCP 5044 to a <strong>LYNX</strong> Series<br />

5000 system. This will depend on the system design in terms of the<br />

number of panels required, the size of the system and where the<br />

panels are to be located.<br />

The APPolo control system can also be interfaced with the control<br />

panels and this provides simultaneous access to the system either<br />

via the panels or APPolo client. Any changes made to the system<br />

via the APPolo GUI clients and connected control panels are<br />

immediately refl ected in all other devices so the system status is<br />

always current.<br />

The physical interface of the <strong>LYNX</strong> Series 5000 can be either serial<br />

or LAN, and this is really dependant on the system design and<br />

confi guration. Two examples are shown below.<br />
