Remote Control Panel
Description
The RCP 5044 is a slimline 1RU 19” rack mount control panel
designed for use with the Series 5000 product line. The panel
can be used with our without the APPolo control system and
will provide full remote control and monitoring capability for any
Series 5000 module connected to the system.
Featuring a backlit alphanumeric display, user assignable
illuminated buttons and digital rotary controls it is possible to
review and adjust all parameters for any selected module. The
panel supports both serial and network (TCP/IP) connectivity
and when used on a network the panel can be located virtually
anywhere on the system network. A standard PC browser
interface is provided for any panel maintenance, confi guration
and software updates.
This is an ideal solution for smaller installations, control rooms,
equipment rooms, outside broadcast or any location where

space is at a premium and there is not room for a PC client
running the APPolo control system.
The panel can be user confi gured to show only the functions
which you need to monitor and /or need to adjust. Panel
function, button colors and even the structure can be user
confi gured to suit the specifi c application.
When panels are used in conjunction with APPolo desktop
clients in a system, then any changes made on the APPolo
client GUI is immediately refl ected on the panel, and visa versa.
Up to fi ve panels can be used on any given system
(combination of APPolo clients and panels is limited to fi ve
max)

In this example for a small installation the Series 5000 system
is using the basic RCT 5021 as the main controller. One panel is
located in close proximity to the system and the interface is serial.
It is also possible to use the LAN port on the panel to add network
connectivity to additional panels and also APPolo control system
clients for expansion.

5031 Master Controller in a larger
system. All devices connect into
the system over the network. Up

supported by the RCT 5031 LAN
controller and this can be any
mix of panels and APPolo GUI
terminals.

Connectivity
There are two ways to interface the RCP 5044 to a LYNX Series
5000 system. This will depend on the system design in terms of the
number of panels required, the size of the system and where the
panels are to be located.
The APPolo control system can also be interfaced with the control
panels and this provides simultaneous access to the system either
via the panels or APPolo client. Any changes made to the system
via the APPolo GUI clients and connected control panels are
immediately refl ected in all other devices so the system status is
always current.
The physical interface of the LYNX Series 5000 can be either serial
or LAN, and this is really dependant on the system design and
confi guration. Two examples are shown below.
