<strong>Articulation</strong> (<strong>Transfer</strong>) <strong>Agreement</strong> <strong>between</strong><br />

<strong>Herzing</strong> <strong>University</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>Herzing</strong> College Campuses<br />

Preamble. This constitutes an articulation agreement <strong>between</strong> <strong>Herzing</strong> <strong>University</strong> in the United<br />

States with the four <strong>Herzing</strong> College campuses in Canada specifying the transfer of credit from<br />

collegiate diploma programs at <strong>Herzing</strong> College campuses into associate degree programs at<br />

<strong>Herzing</strong> <strong>University</strong>.<br />

The Relationship Between the Institutions.<br />

Common Heritage. <strong>Herzing</strong> <strong>University</strong> in the United States <strong>and</strong> the four <strong>Herzing</strong> College<br />

campuses in Canada are each separate institutions of higher education that share a<br />

common heritage of being founded by Henry <strong>and</strong> Suzanne <strong>Herzing</strong> <strong>and</strong> perpetuating their<br />

culture through continuous ownership by the <strong>Herzing</strong> family. <strong>Herzing</strong> <strong>University</strong> was<br />

founded in 1965 <strong>and</strong> the family acquired the first two Canadian campuses in 1968.<br />

<strong>Herzing</strong> <strong>University</strong> in the United States. <strong>Herzing</strong> <strong>University</strong> is a diploma, associate’s,<br />

bachelor’s <strong>and</strong> master’s degree granting university in the United States with physical<br />

campuses in the states of Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Nebraska, Minnesota, Ohio<br />

<strong>and</strong> Wisconsin <strong>and</strong> an online campus operating from Wisconsin. <strong>Herzing</strong> <strong>University</strong> is<br />

accredited by the Higher Learning Commission <strong>and</strong> is a member of the North Central<br />

Association. (The Higher Learning Commission can be contacted at (312) 263-0456 or at<br />

http://www.ncahlc.org.) <strong>Herzing</strong> <strong>University</strong>’s accreditation in the United States does not<br />

extend to the <strong>Herzing</strong> College campuses in Canada.<br />

<strong>Herzing</strong> College Campuses in Canada. The <strong>Herzing</strong> College campuses in Canada offer<br />

collegiate diploma programs approved by the ministries of education in the provinces of<br />

Quebec (Montreal Campus), Ontario (Ottawa <strong>and</strong> Toronto Campuses) <strong>and</strong> Manitoba<br />

(Winnipeg Campus). Additionally, the <strong>Herzing</strong> College campuses in Ottawa, Toronto <strong>and</strong><br />

Winnipeg are accredited by the Canadian Education & Training Accreditation Commission<br />

(CETAC). (CETAC can be contacted at 506-459-4546 or at http://www.cetac.ca.)<br />

<strong>Transfer</strong> <strong>Agreement</strong>. <strong>Herzing</strong> <strong>University</strong> <strong>and</strong> the <strong>Herzing</strong> College campuses do hereby agree<br />

to allow students who graduate from diploma programs at the <strong>Herzing</strong> College campuses to<br />

transfer into <strong>Herzing</strong> <strong>University</strong> associate degrees with award of block credit toward the<br />

technical core courses in the associate degrees based on the clock hours completed in the<br />

<strong>Herzing</strong> College program in an amount not to exceed 36 semester credit hours. If the amount of<br />

block credit transferred is less than 36 semester credit hours, the student will be required to<br />

complete additional core technical courses in the applicable discipline at <strong>Herzing</strong> <strong>University</strong><br />

following transfer to make up the difference. Additionally, all students transferring under this


agreement will be required to complete 24 semester credit hours of general education as<br />

specified for the applicable program in the <strong>Herzing</strong> <strong>University</strong> Undergraduate Catalog.<br />

<strong>Transfer</strong> Guide. The attached transfer guide provides the specific number of credits <strong>and</strong> the<br />

applicable <strong>Herzing</strong> <strong>University</strong> associate degree in which the credit may be applied as of the date<br />

of the execution of this agreement.<br />

Applicability to Future Programs or Revisions. This agreement applies without update to<br />

future diploma programs offered at the <strong>Herzing</strong> College campuses with the following provisos:<br />

Award of credit will not exceed 36 semester credit hours applied to the technical core of<br />

the applicable associate degree.<br />

Award of credit for non-internship courses in the <strong>Herzing</strong> College diploma will be done<br />

on the underst<strong>and</strong>ing that courses are a 50/50 mixture of lecture <strong>and</strong> h<strong>and</strong>s-on/lab<br />

based learning. Therefore, half the contact hours will be evaluated as one semester<br />

credit hour awarded per 15 contact hours <strong>and</strong> the other half will be evaluated as one<br />

semester credit hour awarded per 30 contact hours.<br />

Award of credit for internship courses will be evaluated as one semester credit hour<br />

awarded per each 45 contact hours.<br />
