Government Travel <strong>Services</strong> (GTS) expanded<br />

its reach by opening five new implants. In<br />

partnership with the Dubai Naturalization and<br />

Residency Department, GTS opened a<br />

fully-fledged Visa <strong>Services</strong> Office at the<br />

<strong>Dnata</strong> Travel Centre and at the <strong>Emirates</strong> <strong>Group</strong><br />

Technology Centre offering inbound visa<br />

services to the retail and corporate markets.<br />

<strong>Dnata</strong> Travel expanded its retail presence to over<br />

50 outlets with new offices opening in Dubai<br />

Mall, Dubai Outlet Mall, Palm Jumeirah, <strong>Emirates</strong><br />

<strong>Group</strong> Headquarters, Dubai Immigration,<br />

Sonapur, Jumeirah Beach Residence, Hatta and<br />

Ras Al Khaimah. New branches are planned to<br />

open at Dubai Investments Park, Al Ghusais<br />

and Mirdif.<br />

The new hub in the Dubai Outlet Mall was the<br />

first to showcase <strong>Dnata</strong> Travel’s new look which<br />

is based on a sleek, modern and clean design,<br />

soon to be extended to all future outlets.<br />

It was an exceptional year for <strong>Dnata</strong> Offshore<br />

and Marine <strong>Services</strong> with a 39 per cent growth<br />

in sales and new offices opened in Kuwait, Saudi<br />

Arabia, Qatar and Bahrain. The company also<br />

launched the first 24-hour marine and offshore<br />

contact centre in the region and tied up with<br />

International Airline <strong>Services</strong> (IAS) to become<br />

their sales and marketing arm.<br />

<strong>Dnata</strong> Network Air Product supported the<br />

launch of Jet Airways which now operates<br />

double daily flights to Delhi and Mumbai;<br />

helped United Airlines to successfully inaugurate<br />

new services from Dubai to Washington and<br />

relaunched Scandinavian Airline’s operations<br />

from Dubai to Copenhagen.<br />

<strong>Dnata</strong> Network Air Product also supported<br />

capacity increases to the Gulf for airlines such<br />

as Lufthansa, KLM, British Airways, Middle East<br />

Airlines, Royal Jordanian and Singapore Airlines.<br />

It won the GSA contract to represent Virgin<br />

Atlantic in Kuwait.<br />

<strong>Dnata</strong> e-commerce continued to expand its<br />

reach across the internet with a full range of<br />

online services available on dnata.com and<br />

dnatatravel.com. Its travel management solution<br />

has 21 active clients with 10,000 users in UAE,<br />

Oman, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait.<br />

<strong>Dnata</strong> World of Events managed the e-world<br />

Technopolis Association’s 5th Techno-Mart in<br />

Dubai; was responsible for the management of<br />

the 31st ISO General Assembly, which attracted<br />

delegates from more than 130 countries; and<br />

also organised the Business Travel Show, in<br />

partnership with Centaur Exhibitions, UK.<br />

<strong>Dnata</strong> Travel <strong>Services</strong> continued to develop<br />

its portfolio of luxury products comprising<br />

luxury properties across Sri Lanka, Thailand,<br />

the Maldives, Greece, Italy and Switzerland.<br />

Meanwhile, Luxury Air Travel by <strong>Dnata</strong> signed<br />

new representation agreements with Seawings,<br />

Chapman Freeborn, Royal Jet and Air Charter<br />

International.<br />

MMI Travel continued its sporting connections<br />

by being the Official Travel Agent for the recent<br />

Rugby World Cup Sevens in Dubai and for the<br />

third consecutive year, renewed its association<br />

with Cricket Logistics of the International<br />

Cricket Council, as Official Travel Agent in the<br />

Middle East for the ICC World Twenty-20,<br />

England 2009.<br />

With the rebranding of Gulf Ventures, the<br />

company launched a new B2B website and<br />

expanded its fleet of new Land Cruisers and<br />

luxury vehicles for passenger transfers. Gulf<br />

Ventures now offers two permanent desert<br />

camps, which are extremely well-equipped and<br />

capable of handling up to 1,000 guests.<br />

<strong>Dnata</strong> Travel in Saudi Arabia was recognised<br />

by the Supreme Commission for Tourism and<br />

Antiquities for the training and employment<br />

of Saudi nationals in the Eastern Province;<br />
