• Evaluation: There will be 2 in class tests, weekly homework and a final<br />
examination. No make-up tests or quizzes will be given.<br />
In Class Tests:The first in class test will occur between the 4th and 6th<br />
weeks of class and the second in class test will occur between the 10th and<br />
12th weeks of class.<br />
Homework: Homework will be given each week and is to be turned in<br />
the following week during Tuesday’s lecture. No late homework will be<br />
accepted. Solutions must be in your own words, plagerism will not be<br />
tolerated.<br />
Final Exam: The final exam will occur during the regularly scheduled<br />
exam period. This exam will be 3 hours in duration and test material<br />
covered throughout the course.<br />
Labs: The lab section of this courseis intended to familiarize the student<br />
with computer based statistics as well as to broaden understanding of<br />

probability and statistics. The lab topics will include both theory and application<br />
and use of MINITAB. YOU MUST PASS THE LAB SECTION<br />
IN ORDER TO PASS THE COURSE.<br />
Grading Formula:<br />
Option I:<br />
Lab ———————- 15%.<br />
Homework ————— 10%.<br />
In Class Tests ——— 30% (15% each).<br />
Final Exam ———— 45%.<br />
Option II:<br />
Lab ———————- 15%.<br />
Homework ————— 10%.<br />
In Class Tests ——— 15% (7.5%).<br />
Final Exam ———— 60%.<br />
Partial Credit: There will be no partial credit for multiple choice questions.<br />
Partial credit will be given for long answer questions. It is very<br />
important that you show all of your work when solving a problem so that<br />
the grader can locate as may points for you as possible.<br />
• Calculators: For the purposes of this course, any SCIENTIFIC calculator<br />
will be sufficient.<br />
IMPORTANT: NO GRAPHIC CALCULATORS, CELL PHONES,<br />
BLACKBERRIES OR OTHER COMMUNICATION DEVICES<br />
ARE PERMITTED DURING TESTS.<br />
• Attendance:<br />
General Attendance: It is customary in a university environment that<br />
attendance is not taken. It is highly recommended that you attend all<br />
lectures and labs. Consistently missing lecture and lab will most likely be<br />
to the detriment of your performance in the course. If a lecture is missed<br />

it is the responsibility of the student to do all necessary catching up.<br />
Tests and Quizzes: You are not permitted to be absent from any test<br />
or quiz unless a valid excuse is provided. A doctors note or other documented<br />
proof accepted by <strong>CBU</strong> is required. If you must miss an in class<br />
test or quiz due to a scheduled event, you must make Dr. Rodney aware<br />
of this at least one week prior.<br />
Final Exam: It is your responsibility to be present at a final examination.<br />
Missing a final exam is a serious issue and is difficult to resolve. Contact<br />
Dr. Rodney immediately if you have an exam conflict involving <strong>Math</strong> <strong>135</strong>.<br />

and you should attend office hours when necessary.<br />
