Guidelines for Participation in Weekly Sessions (Pass/Fail) Any student missing more than 10% (i.e. 1 session) must consult with the tutor and/or Course Planner to negotiate remedial strategies for meeting course requirements. What are the aims of each session? Ensures that all students discuss the weekly topics. Allows students to critically analyze and defend their position on key issues. Is an opportunity to troubleshoot - it helps you to share and solve issues related to your study and/or assignments. Seminar Preparation: Preparedness and contribution will be evaluated on a weekly basis. 1. Select a minimum of two articles weekly either taken from suggested references or independent search. You may relate these to a central theme from your personal learning objectives (e.g. a specific demographic group, geographic region, or priority health problem). 2. Prepare a concise summary of the article (not more than one page) based on critical thinking, your reflection on the principal concepts presented in the article(s), what you learned, your critique of the reference and its potential impact on your nursing practice, and be prepared to discuss, defend, debate issues in class. 3.
