Develops and directs a statewide comprehensive system <strong>of</strong> services <strong>for</strong> persons <strong>with</strong><br />

developmental disabilities and their families. Programs include residential, day,<br />

supported employment, individual support services.<br />

Family Support <strong>Services</strong> - <strong>Services</strong> are provided by local agencies to families <strong>with</strong><br />

children who have developmental disabilities <strong>with</strong> funding from DDA. Families in<br />

Maryland who have a child under age 22 <strong>with</strong> a developmental disability who is living at<br />

home are eligible <strong>for</strong> services that include; respite and child care, adaptive equipment<br />

and assistive technology, educational aids, home health care, social and recreational<br />

activities, transportation to medical appointments, medical and dental expenses not<br />

covered by insurance.<br />
