MEDIUM- AND HEAVY-DUTY
WRECKERS
EXPERIENCE THE SUPERIOR PERFORMANCE OF THE INDUSTRY'S
TOUGHEST, MOST RELIABLE WRECKERS.
All equipment capacities specified are based on structural capacity only and comply with SAE J2512 and SAE J706 Recommended Practices.
All measurements and capacities are nominal values.
All outside frame rails extending behind the cab of the chassis must be free of all air tanks, battery boxes, fuel tanks, etc.
The payload and towing capacity of any towing vehicle must meet the following:
- The actual payload on the towing vehicle must not exceed the posted rating and,
if applicable, the towed vehicle load must not exceed the posted lift / towing ratings.
- The total weight of the towing vehicle (cab chassis, body, payload, driver, passenger(s), tools,
fuel, etc.) and, if applicable, the towed vehicle load must not exceed the GVWR
(Gross Vehicle Weight Rating) of the towing vehicle.
- The total weight of the towing vehicle and, if applicable, the towed vehicle load must be distributed
so that each axle’s GAWR (Gross Axle Weight Rating) is not exceeded.
- The total weight of the towing vehicle and towed vehicle (everything that moves with the towing
vehicle) must not exceed the GCWR (Gross Combination Weight Rating) of the towing vehicle.
Staying within these ratings is necessary to maintain the safety and performance of the towing vehicle.
Medium- and Heavy-Duty Wreckers

Superior Design, Testing and Manufacturing
Don’t let the good looks fool you; these trucks are tough. Using
aerospace and automotive technologies, Jerr-Dan creates
corrosion-resistant and stress-free composite bodies with
bonded aluminum substructures and composite doors and
panels. The composite body panels are more impact-resistant
than steel, aluminum and stainless. Plus, repair costs are a
fraction of competitive models.
Speaking of good looks, Jerr-Dan’s conveyor system component
paint process ensures full coverage of all components prior to
assembly. Plus, a conversion wash removes oils and prevents
marks and blemishes on the long-lasting finished product. All
components are assembled only after they are cured. No
technique matches the precision consistency of laser cutting
technology. It achieves a perfect fit every time. Laser cutting
also avoids metal distortion created by excessive heat, therefore
retaining the full strength of the material.
Run Hard
Run hard. Jerr-Dan vehicles can take it. Durable.
Reliable. Performing beyond expectations, no matter
what the conditions. For over 30 years, Jerr-Dan has
redefined the towing industry with uncompromising
quality, production and delivery. Whatever you dish out,
Jerr-Dan medium- and heavy-duty wreckers can take it.
Steel is shot-blasted, creating a smoother surface, which allows
for better weld penetrations and a superior paint finish.
IT’S SIMPLE — Jerr-Dan medium- and heavy-duty
wreckers perform better because they’re made better.
Using patented technologies and uncompromising
methods, Jerr-Dan creates the most versatile, reliable
wreckers in the industry. What that means for you is
exceptional safety features and an easy-to-use, longlasting
truck that you can count on to work as long and
hard as you do.
Jerr-Dan performs all frame alterations in-house, assuring proper yields
of material have been used and required RBMs have been met.
What sets Jerr-Dan wreckers apart:
• High-performance, weatherproof electrical systems
help provide reliable service—day in and day out
Composite Body
Using aerospace and automotive technologies,
Jerr-Dan developed one of the first composite bodies
in the industry, making medium- and heavy-duty
wrecker bodies truly lightweight.
• Underreach and boom are mounted to the chassis
subframe for outstanding stability and longer life
because forces are transferred away from the body,
reducing wear
• Dual, 2-speed winches spool at 120 feet per minute,
three times faster than most
• Some of the longest underlifts in their class
