Dental investments are one of the most important
materials in the ”lost wax” process.
This process has its roots in Ancient Egypt, in Ancient
Greece and in the Roman Empire and is nowadays
an excellent technique to obtain metallic
castings of objects with even fine and complex
details. The lost wax process was first used to obtain
dental castings at the start of the 20th century,
in the U.S.A.
Nowadays, due to both the frequent use of high
melting point alloys and the ever shortest working
time available to the Dental Technicians, the
most used investments are the phosphate-bonded
ones, in particular those allowing rapid heating.
Chemident has planned the manufacturing of a
complete ”state-of-the-art” range of dental investments,
suitable to the most important and diverse
techniques. As for now, we are offering two types
of phosphate-bonded dental investments:
• one for fixed prosthesis, for both speed and
overnight technique, of very fine bimodal granulometry,
for all alloys and pressable ceramic.
• another one for frameworks, for both speed
and overnight technique.
I rivestimenti dentali, come noto, si utilizzano principalmente
per ottenere fusioni con il procedimento
«a cera persa».
Tale procedura ha origini antichissime (antico Egitto,
Greci, Romani) ed è tuttora ottima per l’ottenimento
di fusioni metalliche di particolari anche
molto piccoli e complessi. Agli inizi del Novecento,
negli Stati Uniti d’America, si ebbero le prime
applicazioni nel settore dentale.
I rivestimenti oggi più utilizzati sono i rivestimenti
a legante fosfatico e stanno diventando preponderanti
quelli che permettono il riscaldamento
rapido. Questo per il frequente utilizzo di leghe
ad alto punto di fusione e per i tempi di lavoro
ormai sempre più stretti all’interno del Laboratorio
Odontotecnico.
La Chemident ha in programma la produzione di
una completa gamma di rivestimenti dentali di
ultima generazione, adatti alle più importanti e
differenti tecniche. Attualmente presentiamo sul
mercato due rivestimenti:
• Il primo per protesi fissa, a riscaldamento sia
rapido che tradizionale, di fine granulometria
bimodale, per tutti i tipi di leghe e per ceramica
integrale (pressofusione);
• Il secondo per protesi scheletrica, anch’esso
a riscaldamento sia con modalità rapida che
lenta.
