. Awarded a $40,000 grant from the National<br />
Fish and Wildlife Federation to support research<br />
and eradication <strong>of</strong> Asiatic sand sedge in select areas<br />
between Sandy Hook and Bay Head, New Jersey.<br />
. Awarded $188,100 in federal funding for the<br />
GCU Autism Training Institute; 159 local educators<br />
participated in specialized lectures, training sessions,<br />
and panel discussions.<br />
. A $1,000,000 bequest from Dorothy Jamin Marron ’36<br />
provided startup funds for the new campus entrance;<br />
the bequest honors the Class <strong>of</strong> 1936.<br />
. Completed the first phase <strong>of</strong> renovations to the<br />
McAuley Heritage Center.<br />
. Implemented online payment system for student<br />
billing and began issuing electronic bills to eliminate<br />
paper statements.<br />
. Implemented paperless online employee recruiting<br />
system to support sustainability and create easy<br />

. Upgraded student Web site portal to allow for single<br />
sign-on access to pertinent information and services.<br />
. Became one <strong>of</strong> the first institutions <strong>of</strong> higher<br />
education in New Jersey to successfully complete the<br />
State Peer Review Process for security and to conduct<br />
a mandatory annual campus-wide lockdown drill.<br />
. Introduced the McAuley Institute for Lifelong<br />
Learning (MILL), giving adult learners access to<br />
college-level courses taught by experienced GCU<br />
faculty; the program has grown from two pilot<br />
courses in 2009 to 11 courses in 2010.<br />
. Attracted more than 21,000 guests to GCU<br />
conferences and special events, including the popular<br />
Biographies from The <strong>Court</strong> series, which consistently<br />
sold out.<br />
. Formed new partnerships that resulted in wellattended<br />
conferences for the New Jersey Coalition for<br />
Inclusive Education and New Jersey’s Girl Scouts.<br />
. Implemented social media strategy to attract<br />
new students and engage existing GCU students,<br />
faculty, staff, and alumni through Facebook, Twitter,<br />
YouTube, and LinkedIn.<br />
. Redesigned www.georgian.edu and launched<br />
the new GCU homepage, featuring a new look for<br />
the site, frequently updated content, slide show<br />
animation, integrated social media, user-friendly<br />
navigation, and interactive news articles.<br />
. Generated more than 10,770 column inches<br />
in magazine and newspaper media coverage,<br />
resulting in $475,000 in ad-equivalent dollars<br />
for FY2009–2010.<br />
. Recognized for creative excellence in marketing<br />
and communications; honors included more than<br />
10 awards from the Association <strong>of</strong> Marketing and<br />
Communication Pr<strong>of</strong>essionals and the International<br />
Academy <strong>of</strong> the Visual Arts for the informational<br />
video and television spots, Web site redesign, and<br />
GCU Magazine.<br />
. Launched GCU Community News, a monthly<br />
e-newsletter that keeps upward <strong>of</strong> 3,500 GCU faculty,<br />
staff, and students informed about campus news<br />
and events.<br />
