Prize draw
approaches
The Grand Summer Raffle prize draw
is being held on 26 September at
Central Office, so you still have time
to return your ticket stubs. We have
some brilliant prizes to be won and
you may even win the break to Irton
House Farm, which was won by
member Helen Cole last year, who
had an absolutely wonderful time.
Helen writes:
My holiday to Irton House Farm was
everything it claimed to be in the
brochure … and more !! The accommodation
was disabled-friendly without being obtrusive
and very clean and comfortable. The selfcatering
kitchen facilities were excellent. Irton
House is a working farm consisting of mostly
sheep and there was full access to sheep
and lambs in adjacent meadows. The view
of the countryside is unobstructed, the farm
being on high ground, with a distant view of
Bassenthwaite Lake. The Lake District is nearby,
but, for a respite holiday, there is no need to
leave the farm.
Member Heather Jones draws last year’s lucky winners.
The farm owners, Joan and Reg Almond, were
very friendly, kind, helpful and understanding
people and my husband and I very much
appreciated their hospitality. We will certainly be
returning again next year as paying guests …
God willing!!
Many thanks to Irton House Farm for donating
a prize again this year and, indeed, to everyone
else who have so generously donated prizes
towards our Grand Summer Raffle.
Good luck everyone, but remember .. … you
have to be in it to win it !!
Thank you
